Default Misfire probs

Hi,

I have a '92 Saphire on K plate which has just had the head refurbished. The car is totally standard apart from a K+N panel filter. I plan to put greens etc to go stage three but want to make sure it goes allright before I do that.

My problem is it has a misfire or a hesitancy off boost but is OK when boosting. Does anyone know what could be causing it? The car has had new plugs, oil and filter recently.

Anyone give me any ideas. Can the fault codes be read easily or does it need to be done with a proper reader?

Any help appreciated.

Graham

Taz, have you run a search on "misfire", it seems to be a common problem these days and loads of advice has already been given.
If you've no luck with the advice already provided, you prob. best go see a specialist.

Good luck.

I have not run a search but have looked at a couple of threads so far. I see someone else is having similar probs on another thread so I will watch that one also. My problem is there are no "experts" close to me.

hi bro

had similar problems myself, the following info is what Ive gleaned from very good guys here

plug gap mate ? 0.65mm ? brand of plugs ?

You've had the head off ? check the earths and grounds especially the one which runs from the rear of the plenum chamber to the block, check its 100% good earth and no broken damaged wires

the later (I THINK) was my problem, the misfire was just about 4000rpm
