Anyone got one? Or Played one?

Do you think these would make a suitable console for a 5 year old?

Thinking of getting Josh one for Xmas, he wants a ps2 but i prefer the wii (Id be playing it while he's not here )

The are good fun and you can get games that help with kids learning. I'd say definitely get one, just make sure they have their hand through the strap so they don't hoy it through the tele

Maybe she keeps him sheltered and makes sure he doesn't know about such things, so as to keep costs down?

I have a Wii, they are a brilliant laugh for about 5 minutes and if you've got mates round but otherwise a bit pap

wii is brilliant, poor graphics but the game play is immence. however zelda, twilight princess is awesome!!!! get a wii ps2 is gay!

He doesnt know about ps3's yet He wanted a 360 but i like the wii's as they look fun and i aint bothered about the graphics.

yeah sod graphics!!! if you want to look all cool and hard with your money get the ps3 but if you want to have fun het the wii!

I got one and I'm 35, Both my kids love it and have regular argies as to who's gonna use it first and they are 9 and 5.

I have a Wii and its great

However i'd show caution at getting a 5yr old a games console. My wife gave a ps2 to her son when he was 4 and it was the worst decision EVER. He just became obsessed. He was playing games before he could read so he had no idea what the writing on the screen said. He'd talk about it NON-STOP and little else.

We took away the PS2 and to this day it lives in the loft. He had a gameboy and we gave him a psp last xmas, he's 8 now btw. And he still obsesses over games games games. Sometimes its hard to get him to go out and play and not play games. He'll even go to his mates where they are allowed it all the time and i hate it!

I think its a quick fix for a parent to shut a child up but i dont think its a good idea letting them play it for hours on end all day everyday

It is harsh to say the Wii graphics are poor. Sure they are not PS3 standard, but they are not exactly rubbish. Some game companies let the side down by lack of effort, but other games look great.
