Default New body shells

Y oh y does no company do this over here!! http://www.dynacornclassicbodies.com/ford_models.html
Surley if they can do it in the usa then some one could get the rights off ford 2 build new old spec body shells!
Just think if u could pick up the phone and order a new escort cossy shell ! or a new s1 rst shell! s2 rst, 3 door , saff!

I bet if this was the case u would c loads more classic ford racing again! as scrapping a eriplacible shell would not be a problem!

Come 2 think about it im sure a company bought the rights 2 mini shells and still makes new ones!! so how come no fords!

Ps sorry about the spelling left my brain at work 2day it would seem! lol

i just dont think it will be finachally viable with the sort of cars we would want to have done!

classic mustangs the world will buy,,, how many S2's bare shells do you really think would sell?

do you know how much the press tools with cost to make?

the mustang works out at about 7 grand,,,

the only ford classic i would think it would be viable on is a MK2 escort

The firm has probably done a deal with the original owners of the mustang tools.....

To copy the body and make new tools would cost stupendous money! I work for a car pressing place (jag/landrover/aston etc..) and each metal pressing will have a tool value of arround30-60 grand for a pisspot bracket or part......you look at exterior pannels and floors( big pressings) and your into 100's of K for a single part.

The tools are normally owned by the customer and just looked after and ran at the company who produce the parts....so in theory Ford should still have all of the tools for any car they have ever produced.....unless they have been sold on or gone etc....

Someone should ask really see if they would lend you the wing tools and i'll run them off at work few hours of borrowing the ford tool and i'd make millions

well ok s2 rst might be pushing the boat a bit but im sure mk1 and 2 escorts would sell like hot cakes ! with rally teams buying loads up 4 spares! and y not escort cossy shells ! still loads of these being rallied and crashed !

If its not viable then how come the mini place works????

i believe that many people have tried to get mk1/2 escort shells remade, but ford wont give them the rights to do so for some reason..

Not saying that mate, of course i'd love to see some old ford shells coming from a factory brand new! But if FORD wont give up the tooling then its just not viable.....
