Good cars but I think they are overpriced nowadays. Used to be cheap a year or so ago but Evo mag have been banging on about them being awesome for a while and most of the net have followed and prices seem to have shot up!
If I was going to have one I would wait for a year or so until after their 15 minutes of fame and prices will be a bit more sensible.

IMO prices have not moved in the year since i sold mine. Around Ł6k for a UK car with about 80k on the clock. JDM versions can be had for much less.
I cannot Fault mine at all. The only think i had to change on mine in 18months apart from usual Tyres and Brakes. Was the rear wheel bearings and i smashed a clutch, both had done 107k though so you cant moan at that.
If a car is going to show up any weak points it will with me owning it. More than held its own on track and that was with crap Tyres. Might only have 150lb/ft but it more than held its own on the A47[Mikes Private Road] Dash at Norfolk Group RSOC nights.
Mine managed a 14.5 1/4 and thats with me driving it who cant launch for shit. A lad on ITR DC2 managed a 14.1 in a totally standard car.
Rad like i said go and test drive one if you can

they've got more like 110lb/ft
my mate has one (who came to the APT RR day) and i've driven it a fair bit and love it, the noise it makes at 9000rpm is amazing and the kick you get at 6k is VERY turbo like
I agree to a point with chip that most will be a bit sloppy, bushes etc, but i'm sure driving it just on the road it'll still feel tight and planted.
Get one!

Some examples of teggy's for sale
mint looking '99 JDM version
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/238881.htm
uk spec one
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/216359.htm
another uk one
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/236754.htm
I'd personally go for a JDM post 98 model as these have better brakes, better roll bars and bigger wheels iirc, sure Alps will put me straight if i'm wrong

JDM 96 spec has smaller brakes and so many things were a delete option, you could even delete the parcel shelf.
JDM 98 Spec bigger brakes, electric mirrors, ABS, AC, HID lights, 16" wheels, slightly revised suspension, and a few more bits and bobs
UK spec is nearer 98 spec car but no electric mirrors or HID's
TBh any car Rad is looking at for Ł5k is going to have sloppy bush's etc as they will be getting on a bit. For Ł200 to buy polly ones its not exactly the end of the world.
Mine had 209.4 Bhp @ 8542 Rpm and 154lb/ft and that was with just bot on bits, standard cars on the same Rollers on the same day made 180bhp and 183bhp.

Generally good cars, its not all about the torque in fwd cars.
I should think a Integra with a few mods would see off most things fwd round a track anyway.
When someone builds a big power fwd car that actually goes round corners then I'll eat my words but from what I have driven or been out in NA is the correct engine to be using on a fwd car, it just tends to be the more expensive way of doing things.
IMO Radders leagues ahead of a xe nova unless you have spent some cash on the nova.

Used my mates Integra loads of times and its simply ballistic point to point.
Every last bit of revs needs to be used to make the most out of them though as they are not torquey but there awesome when driven right.
Never tracked one but I have no doubt that they do the business on the circuit, very impressive cars.
Seats are nice too

The white one above is identical to my mates old one, only mods he made were brake pads, HKS Hyper Muffler and filter, sounded the dogs dangles on full chat

Absolute awesome car if you have a leadfoot
The handling and whole driving experience is tip-top a true drivers car in its own right?
To be honest i really fancy 1 of these as i can honestly say everytime the V-TEC engages the grin its like a cheshire cat every drive in it is a smiling one .
Much more aggressive V-TEC than the newer IV-TEC IN THE CIVIC AND DC5
Much more noiser inside cabin a true sports car but when driven well handling is sublime don.t think i have ever driven a car that gives you as much feedback you feel ultimatly confident on the approach/during and after any corner at any speed .
Much more of a car over the civic type r even the EK9 all i can say forget the torque go drive one they definatly opened my eyes
With the added bonus of honda reliability which basically means drive it hard from day 1 to 150k+ making sure you use expensive top notch oil and they will run superbly
The sound of the engine with a full spoon b pipe exhaust system is like a formula 1 car a seriously top note at 9k rpm
Plenty of tuning options but a well driven integra type-r can hold its own against much more expensive exotica on b-road and track
Sorry for the waffle but i personally rate these cars highly

I will hand on heart say you will not be dissapointed think of a how well a focus RS handles and these are as good if not better (personnel opinon)
I always have a look at them and it so suits my driving style , if there not quick enough you can always get a rotrex supercharger installed for a healthy 350bhp+ and a lot more if you go for internals and intercooler
Can.t believe i stumbled over this thread got me thinking now
