Default Rolling road setup today

I had my car booked in at SCC today for a rolling road setup which i specifically asked for.
I phoned them last week to book and conversation went...

ME-i want a rolling road set up and check afr,set up new boost controller, co levels etc etc

SCC-no problem,we can do it friday morning

ME- ok,see you then

I worked last night from 11pm until 7am this morning and then drove the 85 miles to SCC.

I go to reception to tell them that im here for my rolling road set up,only to be told by some monkey that they dont have a rolling road WTF.
I am now starting to get angry so he gets the boss rob to come out. I explained that i specifically asked for a rolling road set up and he repeats that they dont have one...i am starting to think this is a wind up,but the gormless cunt is stood there holding a fucking lambda sensor and a laptop for a road set up,which if people read my other post will see i did not want this I then have to bite me lip and count to ten as he was very fucking close to getting a fucking hiding,85 fucking miles for a rolling road set up,and they dont fucking have one, just try to get you to travel there and fob you off with a road set up...AVOID THESE FUCKING IDIOTS

As i said to you mate, i took the booking and you asked for a set up to set the boost controller and check the fuelling - at no point did you ask for it to be set up on the rollers...

Why would i have taken the booking for setting up on the dyno when we dont currently have one !!

Anyhow Sorry for the missunderstanding.

because he wanted some figures to show his mates in the pub

or he wanted his car to consume shit loads of hot air

you dont drive the car every day on the dyno, but you do on the road, would have been much better set up that way?

lets all make a guess at what happens at the "proper tuner"

my bet is he will run the car, then wind the fuel pressure up, and charge you Ł100

It is not in question why i wanted it rolling road tuned, but that is what i wanted, that is what i asked for and that is what i expect when i ask for a rolling road set up of new electronic boost controller,so i spent half a day having my time wasted...There is another thread if you want to argue about rolling or road setup, but i want to physically see the gains to certain adjustments, not guess on the road,i then obviously wanted it road checked....If i wanted a set up without the rolling road,i have a very good tuners who would do it,who are 5 miles from me and would not have wasted half a day travelling

you know nothing about g meters then obviously, most road tuners use them including MSD

im sure rob has his "special places" he can use to road tune, most tuners do

I've had both a live map, and a RR map and TBH not noticed a difference. (Both by top mappers, Stu and Kenny @MSD and by Steve Greenald of Race Engine calibration services)

Anyway, there is some fucking horrible attitude in this post, how old are you?

I'd 150% say Rob isn't the misleading type, very nice chap.

Regardless of anything else on this thread, id MUCH rather have a proper road setup than some shitting rolling road tune, so this "mistake" wouldve done you a favour.

Rob & the boys are as sound as a pound. Best tuners I've used by far - and I've used most of 'em over the years!

Good work on getting VOSA certified Rob

Now I wasn't going to say anything but feel I must....

I have know Rob for well over 10 years and would trust him 100% with my car, I even worked at SCC for quiet a few years (some of you may remember).

My question to B16 is why are you so adament to have a RR setup??? The reason I ask is how many top Cossie tuners actually have a rolling road..... People rave about MAD, MSD, NMS, A1 to name just a few NONE of these have RR's.

I know that when Rob does his big power Focus RS conversions and uses Autronic he does the base map/setup on rollers and then does the final session on the road where you get a much better setup.

I have owned 4 Cossies and all 4 have bene setup by Rob/SCC in the past on the road ("private test track" where 160mph is easily reachable ).

It does seem however that some miscommunication has gone on and you being probably very tired once you'd returned home after coming straight to St Albans after finishing a night shift started a post here on PF imo without thinking 100% through and you've sort of dug yourself a hole now and it's getting deeper with every post being made.

However I'm sure the boys at Torque of the Devil will see you proud and you'll be able to use the car to its full potential once shes had a setup by them.

Steve
