Our Wedding story.. (UPDATE Wedding slideshow added on Pg3)
*Please allow this page lots of time to load as the pics are quite large on purpose (Approx 12mb). Any guests who wants a preview CD to maybe buy a print can contact me by PM and i will post one to them*
Well, what can i say, i was extremely nervous about the day and of course wary of anything going wrong to spoil the day for either Nicole and I or our guests, but after Nicoles absolutely meticulous preparation i should have known that nothing would go wrong at all. How could it?
I spent the night at my mothers where i havent slept for about 20 years, and that in itself was a bit of a wierd sensation, and i awoke the next morning at about 6am. Doh.. weddings not until 2, so what shall i do? Browse PF on my new phone seemed a great idea, so thats what i did.. lol
My best man was Dan (Comedy Dan) who is a top mate and did all the right things, including getting me a top flight Bentley for the drive up to the wedding ceremony. You were a really great best man and a top mate Dan and i will never forget your help. Thanks pal.
We arrived in style and all was well... the bride however had a hiccup, the horse was a little nervous about the busy road it had to travel on its way to our new house by the sea, and consequently Nicole was told with 30mins notice that she had to make her way to a meeting point nearer the venue! Thankfully, Kev and Anita our photographers took this in their stride and got her there with no drama. I cant thank those guys enough. Fabulous people and Fabulous Photographers, you feel at ease with them instantly. If anyone ever needs an event photographing, please look no further than this website. http://www.kaphotography.co.uk/
So, Dan and I arrived went in and met all the guests, this was actually where my nerves kicked in and i felt a bit of a plank as i didnt know what to do. Who do you walk over to say hi to first when every one of the people you love and respect are stood in the same room? Doh.. i opted to just stand there like a statue. LOL
So.. the time is here, we were all ushered to the ceremony area and Dan and I stood there on ceremony for what felt like 2 hours!! Then the tune we had picked kicked in and we knew the time was here. A moment like this...
The bridesmaids were Kim (from here) My daughter Stephanie and Nicoles sister Sammy. They looked fabulous, i am so so proud of them all. Nicole was following slowly behind... when i saw her i got a lump in my throat and had to wipe away a tear. She is stunning. I am so lucky.
The ceremony went without a hitch and our vows were FAR easier than i expected.I really thought i would fluff my lines but it was real easy, if not a tad nerve racking! Nicole said I do, and nobody contested, so that was the main thing!
After the ceremony we went for a 20 min ride in the horse and carriage with a bottle of champers which was really nice as it got us away and gave us time to have a little snog and chill out. Great touch.
When we came back, we stood around drinking and chatting and had various photographs taken, mainly candid as you will see soon, but of course there are various posed group shots one must include, but these were dispensed with using minimum disruption and fuss, again, totally thanks to Kev and Anita. Totally professional.
The wedding Breakfast was almost ready, and this was when it dawned on me that i was about to make my speech, the ONLY part of the day i had been absolutely dreading. As it happens, it wasnt quite as painfull as i expected, although i skipped quite a lump of it due to nerves, but managed to perform the main bits and say what i wanted to say to nicole, which is most important to me.
The meal was 100%. Totally perfect. 3 courses of what i can only describe as some of the best food ive eaten, and i am very fussy, so again, Nicoles choice of caterer was impeccable.
That i guess was about it for the formalities, we went on from there to enjoy the drinking and socialising time with everyone whilst the Disco was prepared. My one big regret of the day was not being able to spend enough time with each person there. Its a quite awful feeling that people have made the massive effort and of course expense to be at your wedding and you have not bothered to spend any time talking to them. Honestly, it was a real issue to me and i tried hard to at least say a few words to everyone, so if you were there, and i didnt speak to you, i am so so sorry.
Overall, Sunday was without doubt the happiest day of my life and i almost wish we could do it again once a month, but i am sure it wouldnt actually feel the same if you were allready married.
Thanks.
Thanks must go to all my good friends and family from around the country who attended. We kept it small on pupose and only invited people we actually regard as very close friends, and with only one or two exceptions they all managed to make it there to make our day so special, with people coming from essex, devon, birmingham and even SPAIN!
It was absolutely wonderfull to have you all together with us and we love you all. Thanks ever so much. Final thank of course must go to my gorgeous bride who has put up with so much from me over the years and still did me the great honour of becoming my bride. Nicole, thank you.
Well, thats all from me, my next post will be a selection of pictures from the day, hopefully anyone local to me will enjoy the pictures and maybe consider Mains Hall as a venue for themselves. If so, here are their contact details. http://www.thegreathallatmains.co.uk/

Looked spot on from the pics!
You are indeed a lucky man, as Nicole is a top lass, but I would say she was pretty lucky herself to find one of life's good guys.
All the best for the future!

Oh Wow... how gorgeous do you both look together.
I always look forward to your write ups n pictures Stu.. and you haven't disappointed this time.. was very moving.
Congrats to you both.. you were made for eachother xx
(after reading through this and the "Mr n Mrs Sanderson" post.. I think you should print out the threads.. so many people, some who know you... some who don't (altho it feels like we do).. with their best wishes and compliments.. would be a lovely keepsake to look back on in thefuture).
