thats the thing if you have a bad chip, the idle co could be high as you cant adjust the top and bottom fuelling seperatly

the thing is am i going to need to have it set up again after the mot? especially if im going to be messing around with fuel? at a guess would you say its likely to be the ecu or a dodgy map sensor?
it could well be a bad sensor, if the car was correctly set up ,before this problem it wouldnt have been like that then
well not if the tuner is worth anything
it could be ect, engine coolant temp, sensor, if the ecu thinks the car is cold all the time it will overfuel

just dont let them simply wind the fuelling down ,as it WILL weaken it on boost aswell, and your engine could so easily melt, if in any doubt book it into a proper tuner, dont let a mot center bodge it, its not worth it mate

im not into bodging fuelling on cossies ,ive seen to many melted pistons because of similar things to this ,all because people mess about with fuelling,
a simple miss adjustment could mean this engine goes for scrap,
what chips in it
when i put my chip in mine my co went through the roof and failed on mot emissions was something stupid like yours
major bore wash
ive turned it down to 3.5% now and fuelling seems ok now my gauuge is alway in the green anyhow when on boost
but still id get it checked out

I've got a similar problem with mine at the moment, but i haven't got a clue what chip is in mine so would a chip from MSD help in anyway or am i better taking the car somewhere? Bearing in mind i'd have to trailer it.
Mine is as also a 4x4 with stage 3 bits but still on a T3 - just incase the spec helps in anyway

any good chip will be fine, the most important thing is the tuner who writes the chip should give you all the base settings ie fuel pressure, so you can check all is correct ,before you go hunting for sensor faults
though ,ect, and map sensor are favorites, ect just fails and reads cold all the time ,and the map sensor normaly gets wet and goes tits making the ecu think the engine is under load ,dumping loads more fuel in, aswell as poorly set up cars ,ie habing the fuel pressure wound up etc etc also cause major problems,
its worth getting a pro to set them up properly ,the car will perform better, drive better, and be soooo much better on fuel, not to mention having massuve impact on engine life

what was the co last mot, one would assume it was no higher that 3.5 %
what have you changed since I'd be looking at inlet manifold gasket leaking and act sensor if it was on that set up last mot
