Evo help...........
already put a scoob post up and basically the same.........i'd like to know what model has the best potential, i'm looking at evo7/8's around the £13k mark with the intent on spending a couple of £k on mods....what kind of power and reliability can i expect....(pretty sick of shit breaking)...cheers for ya help Pete

Why didn't you just put them both on one post??
I'd go for an 8 personally, you could pick up a decent specd car for 15k so NO need to spend a few k on it like you've said, just buy it done..
My Evo 8 FQ330 was a cracking car, superb handling, power wise i think you'll be fine to around 360-370, i'm sure others will tell you too..
If i was you, id go and test drive an STI and an Evo, i know which one you'll buy...

What are you after with the car ? by this i mean a sedate Evo or more raw version ?
A nice Evo 6rs would be fantastic for a raw Evo does not have to many luxurys but is a great starting point for a big power track biased car,
A 7/8 MR FQ is slightly more sedate in that it has the AC elec windowns etc etc. I have a MR FQ 320 and it is a great car to be honest, you dont see to many of them about compared to the alternatives and it is a bloody quick car, l have Autronics and Magnex on mine with a few other bits and it goes very very well,
The 6rs 's are very sought after but i beleive that Barrie at Distinctive Cars York has one or 2 for sale and he is not that far from you,

Do a search for Boschman's post recently on them, some info in there and a link through to another thread that I put up.

Get an VIII either a grey import GSR, an FQ300 or FQ320.... new exhaust with decat, uprated fuel pump plus Autronic SM4 which has antilag and you'll have a reliable 370-380bhp

My Autronic was 1400 quid, exhaust you're looking @ 400ish, pump i think around 170..
Lynne and Mike have the latest ecu too.. i'm having that on my Saph very soon from Sheady again

Staffi have you not just had it mapped by karl norris,, why the move to autronic??
Maxest, i'm going to go GT30 eventually and Mark i feel IMO is one of the best tuners/mappers around and the great job he did on my Evo that's why matey..
