Well yesterday as I was heading to pick up my TV I experienced something which, well even now, I find unbelievable.
Basically, to cut a long story short, I was approaching a junction which leads out onto a fairly busy 40mph road. If you approach this junction on the main road from the left you cannot turn right. Anyway, some guy comes round the corner, naughty naughty shouldnt of done that, but nothing serious. Then jesus, out of nowhere a 5 series traffic car comes storming around the corner, cutting in front of traffic, virtually sideways at god knows what speed, missing the front of my car by about a foot. No sirens, no blue lights, just totally out of nowhere. All for the sake of a guy who had turned right where it said no right turn, he hadnt been speeding, driving dangerously etc for what I had seen. Anyway, my mum was pretty shook up by this and I sat at the junction in disbelief for about a minute. Im not normally one to complain, but I thought this took the piss frankly so I turned round and went to get the registration number of the car in question. Anyway got it, and wrote this letter which I will be posting this afternoon along with a diagram to show what happened in better detail. I can guarantee if it was joe public seen driving the way this guy was, it would be bye bye licence for a few years.
Anyway, here is my letter:
"Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to make a formal complaint against one of your traffic officers regarding the manner of which they were driving on the 4th of September 2007.
At approximately 19:45 hours on the aforementioned date, I was approaching the T-Junction on Cross Street in Farnborough which allows you to turn left onto the Farnborough Road (next to the Kwik-Fit Garage and Total Petrol Station). Seemingly out of nowhere, a BMW 5 series traffic car (registration HX56 AVP), approaching from the left, came thundering around the corner at a speed which forced the rear end of the car to kick out, without sirens or blue lights, As a result of this, the said vehicle came within inches of smashing into the offside front of my car, forcing me to take evasive action. It was apparent that the officer in question had gone after another car which had also been approaching from the left and turned right at the said junction, and although it is clearly stated that you cannot do this, many including myself would class this as a somewhat petty traffic offence. It certainly does not warrant cutting in front of fast moving traffic and nearly smashing into an innocent member of the public.
I then proceeded to turn my vehicle around to make a note of the registration plate of said police vehicle. When I pulled over opposite the traffic car and the vehicle which the office had pulled over, I found it highly ironic that the officer in question was raising his voice and waving his finger at the driver of the other vehicle for what I can only assume to be driving ‘inappropriately’. To finish things off, the officer had stopped the car in the middle of the road (Cross Street, near to the car sales garage), leaving only a narrow gap for other traffic to pass through – clearly another product of the excellent safety training these officers must receive. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to stop and ask for the officers badge number, and I am in no doubt that I would have been met with the usual friendly tone of the Hampshire police, which would have resulted in the officer scrutinising my vehicle, checking my documents and doing anything he can to make life needlessly awkward – the general behaviour from any traffic officer I have encountered.
In summary, I find it shocking at the lack of driving skill, awareness and blatant disregard for the safety of the public. I am no law expert, but there is no doubt that the manner in which the officer was controlling his vehicle would constitute dangerous driving and for this reason I have no option but to lodge a formal complaint.
I look forward to your response.
Best Regards,
Jamie Murray"
Anything within which needs ammending?? Will keep updated how it goes, nothing will probably happen but I am/was so pissed off with it that I feel its neccessary to have a little bitch

Av' it
Seriously, the more complaints they get for acting like cunts, the less likely they will.
May only make a small difference, but enough.
Personally id write to the letters page of the local paper or something too, cant beat a bit of bad publicity

send the same letter to a few other coppers who are in charge of coppering in the local area and see what sort of response you get
conviniently forget to include "i have also cc'd this letter to several news agencies" and see what happenes when you don't get a reply from the cops but do from the papers
if he'd had his blues and tow's on then fair enough, but if he didn't then it's a bit ricky, even so, they aren't supposed to be breaking the driving laws when they do a chase anyway are they?
where's a copper when you need one

Aye, chasing someone making an illegal right turn is a bit much though dont you think? A light plod around the corner surely would suffice

i always report a cop car if i see it speeding without its lights and sirens on, why should they be able to get away with it?
reminds me of the time i caught a escort police car doing handbrake turns on the local industrial estate late at night, i stopped him and asked what he would do if i came down later and had a go?
, he drove off red faced, after i took his badge number ,but nothing ever happened about it

only a suggestion but remove the assumptions (you say ...I can only assume to be driving ‘inappropriately’) and then content as to regards of their poor safety training. It will be taken more seriously. If you have anything in it with regards to past experiences then the police will assume your trying to get their own back so to speak.
Assumptions are the number 1 fook up in the world ! Let them assume, you just stick to fact !
Just my two penneth worth

Sounds like pretty dodgy driving to me.. The bit of speeding without lights and sirens dont mean a thing as we often do that in order to catch up with vehicles without alerting them to our presence... well i do that because if i whacked the lights on at about 200 yards away then a lightly tuned milk float would be able to get away from my vauxhall ashtray haha. ..
I hate hearing stuff like this as it puts us all in a bad light. Hope your mum is ok now mate

i had a nasty expecance with the police with i was 13. its an unbelivable sorty but when they pulled us over in my mates van they dragged me out the van staght to the floor and cuffed me.
i was only 13. i'll put the whole story up later as im a bit strapped for time now

Waste of time, I sent PICTURES, and VIDEO of a SAFETY CAMERA VAN driving along a dual carriageway the WRONG WAY, YES against the traffic, so he could park up FACING the traffic to snap them as they went past, on the BUSIEST day of the year, BIKE racing weekend at Snetterton about 2/3 months ago, was on A11 about 4/5 miles away.
I sent this recorded to the CHIEF CONSTABLE of norfolk, so I know he got it, did it get taken seriously, did it F**K.
The same twat is still doing the camera vans.
His number plate could be seen clearly, as could the fact that he was not wearing his seat belt(must be safer!!), you could clearly see who it was, as well as it being time/date/location stamped.
These are CIVILLIANS who do this camera van work, so no more allowed to break the law than anyone else.

Keep it factual and straightforward. Make no reference to "wasting my time" etc. They will simply think you are having a dig for something in the past.
Any reference of them not being able will be ignored as they go through all the *training* which apparently allows them to drive at speed.
Stick with the facts, take the jibes out and mention that you feared for your safety and that you would have crashed had you not taken avoiding action.
I dont think much will come of it, but it helps so the plod that they are civil servants and that we pay their wages.
Let us know what response you get.

Tell that to the brazilian who took seven bullets in his skull, has anyone been charged with anything? no is the answer to that, countless people have died whilst in police custody due to their brutality, the way they treat people and the methods they use, so it aint an exaggeration geezer, you need to look up on a bit of history

Trust me, I hate coppers as much as anyone else on here, but the job they have to do in cases like that are probably the hardest things they will ever have to do, most people will never know how much training you have to go through and the responsibility you carry when you go on a live armed patrol..... I am in the RAF, and do live armed work, the decisions people have to make in an EXTRMELY stressful situation, in split second shoot-don't shoot situations cannot be expalined to people who have never experienced it. People don't get shot for fun, and even if you legally shoot a terrorist, you STILL get charged with murder, and you have to prove you acted on the best information you had and belived that you or others were in grave danger.

The brazilian example has been done to death so maybe I shouldn't have used that one, but for someone to say to me I'm exaggerating over five o killing people got my goat a little bit, over the years a lot of people have died whilst in police custody because they have beaten, kicked, jiffed them with gas, stood on them and basically given them a fucking good hiding any time they fucking feel like it and when death is a result of their direct actions they always seem to get away with it and no charges are brought against those who are directly involved, look back over some history, its all there
