if he had reshelled it there wouldn't be any rust, and you think if it had beenr esprayed 10 days ago they would of sorted out the paint work
must be a member of here if they knew you had a picture of it?

Well I just asked him for the reg aswell and also what security it had fitted for the insurance purposes, just so it didnt look iffy and he come back with this
Response from lazee-guy
lazee-guy( 97)
"c644tpm only has a immobiliser fitted - nothing the insurance companies would be interested in though"
So what do you make of that? Someone's read the reg wrong somewhere!!
Just done a vehicle check, came back with this
Vehicle details could not be found
As it has not been possible to locate the vehicle details, your enquiry cannot proceed and has been cancelled.

macturbo: I think he's just replied to you with the numbers the wrong way and should have read 446: he said I had a pic of it in the scrapyard, so that to me is deffo 446.

if i reshell my car i would still have the original shell but that doesnt make my new car a ringer does it ??
show do you do a real reshell properly on the paperwork side of it .
i understand a ringer is a stolen car that has a legal reg etc put on it ?

For all we know, it could be any MK3 shell, the one he has now, might have been a 1.3, 1.4, might have been a 3i shell which is now turned into the S1 in the advert, what he has done, is got another mk3 shell, and put the ID of the original trashed car, (the one on the top of the stack) onto the new shell.

He could have used a 1.3 shell (for example) with number plate A123BCD. Tranfered all of the S1 equipment over, interior/ exterior/ mechanics, etc then put the S1 number plate & VIN onto the 1.3.
Or, as said, he could have stolen a S1 already, then changed the VIN and number plates to match the scrapped car.
Read this page for info on re-shells and how cars keep their original number plates and how you go about registering it legally via DVLA:
http://direct.gov.uk/Motoring/Buying...246&chk=VsQ/Fs
If YOU reshell your car, you may still have the original shell, but you cannot legally transfer it's numbers across. That's a ringer.

SaqsS2turbo Perhaps you should visit the scrapyard and let the owner know about this ??
Unless he already knows..if you know what I mean??
Are the seller and scrapyard in same location?
