What is the difference between the engines from an R32, R33 and R34? If any?
Also is there an advantage going to a single turbo? If yes, why?
Thanks.

Slight differences to all. Nothing major. Few issues were ironed out and ancillaries developed to be better and more reliable over years. R34 gets a six speed Getrag box and the others have a 5 speeder.
Single Turbo is less complicated and easier to install. Lighter as well.

Lots of bullshit about why go to a single or not.
The usual bullshit is "singles give more power, but twins spool faster" which is shite.
Theres no reason really, if all things are optimal, why either should give more power or spool faster.
If the turbo and manifold are split pulse ones the twins shouldnt even have a "technical" spooling advantage of twins, and tests seem to show a decent single even without a split pulse setup spools as good if not better than the equivalent twins setup.
Single will cost you more as you cant use stock manifolds, downpipes, etc, so need to buy manifold, downpipe, wastegate, etc etc.
Singles are a lot less complicated and less to go wrong, easier access to shit then too.
The way a GOOD (ie GT series, specced right, not some ancient Trust T88) single seems to outperform the equivalent bolt on twins in most cases makes me think on GTRs the inlet and outlet setups on the twins is far less than optimal.
Well TBH having the rear turbos compressor nigh on touching the front turbos turbine housing is pretty much proof of that!
Personally, though its more initial outlay, id go single.

Deffo some crappy lil 1 man band.
I can import cars and do the same.
Actually, I got a lovely Toyota Chaser, RB26 powered, competed in the 2007 MSC championship in japan, massive suspension mods, bodykit, 1 careful lady owner, never raced or rallied, 8k ono.

Is it still torquey low down as well by virtue of the bigger engine ( than on an Escort Cosworth )?
