Is it normal on a mk6 escort that when you pull steering wheel towards you it lifts and then when you let it go it clicks back i have looked at the reach and this is locked ???? if its a prob who do i see

so your saying the steering moves for height and reach(as it should) but it doesnt stay in the place that you want it, it returns to its original position?

yes lock can be on but it can be pulled towards you about 3cm and when you let go it clicks back cant remember my mk5 doing this ??

Hmm i dont know mate my steering column isnt adjustable on my GTi

hang on a sec you say the lock can be on and when you pull it towards you it moves? well dont pull it towards you then?and it will stay locked
