Default Deristricting rally spec Cossie motor

OK.To get my Puma up and going I'm gonna put the rally engine back in.Now it's a good strong long studded motor, pro ported but it's on 9.1 comp ratio.I've got BD14's to go in and i'm taking the restrictor off the turbo.I will change the map in the ecu but will it be safe at this ratio on 99 octane. The present map runs air to air, anti lag and water injection. So boys, can it be made safe on 9.1 comp?

i would imagine so, but the boost will have to be capped at high RPM using that fuel.

no chance on pump fuel mate...

will be closer to 22 if you still want a decent spark advance.

that comp ratio can easilly be accomodated with pump fuel and up to 2 bar on a T34 with very good results, i know, ive done it.

Don't the scandinavians run big boost on high cr's ??

I ran 8.6:1 and put a big turbo (GT35) on it.... and we all know what happened there.

But it was fine with a T4 at 28psi. I'm sure you could run some "decent" boost with a T35 but the setting up of it would be very important!!

they do but have you seen any of them holding the engine at high rpm and high loads for any period of time?

they all seem to get thrown about round quite short tracks.

most prob on funky fuel too.

Yeah, spot on there Euan, same as rallycross stuff, quick squirt here and there, and not long enough to really do any damage. It's all to do with the cylinder pressures. As you hold it on the gas, as the heat builds up the pressure climbs. There is a swanky term for it but I can't remember
