thats ok then, I know lead is bad when it runs your lights and power still (a lot of the shit I've had replaced is lead so far) but wasn't sure about this stuff. I was worried cos the whole house earths via the sheathing on this big fat lead cable

I'm gonna get SE round to have a look when we've done anyways as the plastic or rubber coating on the feed is starting to perish, might as well have them replace it as its their responsibility

to be honest id say its more than 75 % cos unless the cables have blown & carbonised really bad they wont change the cables they will either t-joint or straight joint the new type of cables! so if u havnt got a prob with ur supply then the lead cable is fine!!

thats cool then, I didn't want any more to worry about. We were offered an electrical survey before we bought this place, I don't think we'd be living here now if they'd done one, some of the bodged wiring in here is unreal

Lead is the best resister to moisture or any other contaminant, so the cables within are going to be like brand new, worry not

You need to get the earth changed to P.M.E (uses the neutral) if it's available in your area.
