My BMX- for anyone thats interested
So then...
I have had this bike since I was 12- I am now 26.
It was always a bit rough round the edges and the most I ever spent on it was a few quid on brake cables... To be honest its lucky it survived as there were numerous theft attempts and the only reason it stayed in one piece was because I alway thought it was a bit special.
This week she's had a good few hours of loving polishing... new wheels and tyres, pedals and crank, tange top nut, chain wheel and spider, brake pads and brake cables, all new bearings and crank cups... new seat internals... and I have to say I am chuffed to the bits/over the moon.
BEFORE
AFTER
It is a TRM (totally radical machine) Freestyler and was actually made in Birmingham by Stechford cycles- so is a local bike- while buying the bits this week I have met a few old timers who know of the bikes and people who used to ride for the TRM team.

blimey them bikes are cool and bring back a lot of memories.
I remember having a rotor stunt (the one where the handlebars use to spin 360 without the brake cables getting caught up. I remember the mushroom grips but if i remember i swapped them for tange grips or something like that.

Nice bike shings, but I kinda feel you've taken something away from it by fitting new parts, if you'd of got the old ones reconned (i.e. wheels) then that'd be nicer imo, I like the plastic back wheel and spoked front!
Heres mine, never seen any more like it before, cant find any either!
I reckon its about 12yrs old, maybe bit more.
Needs some TLC!

My bike is extremely rare and they dont come up for sale very often- if at all. Last frame that was sold on ebay with forks went for Ł250+ and it was the first one for years apparently.

I know what you mean but it was all fooked- the crank was actually bent and the chain wheel too.. Its had a hard life.
Also I HATE mag wheels with a passion- when I was a kid they were mint and the thing to have but when it came to riding with them I hated em..
I also wanted it done this week... hence why I got a few bits off ebay, a few bits from the local shop and a few bits from alansbmx.co.uk.

If you're clever when you look on ebay you can get a good "old or mid school" bike- like mine (1984) and Tiffs (circa 1992).
