it was a good card, didnt expect kendal to lose, didnt expect gsp to dominate koscheck on the ground, and yet again, thought randy might be in trouble, but yet again, he was awesome. thats why i love the ufc, even if you think you got an idea of who's gona win, you can be totally wrong, roll on 75

I know what you mean though mate, it was very good to see. I think one of the reasons why he's liked so much by most is due to his age, despite being a decent humble bloke. It really is amazing that he can beat some of these younger fighters, when he's 15-20 years older than them. He also said on UFC All Access that he doesnt see himself retiring in the near future, so id say he's got another 2-3 years left yet at least, , having said that, judging by his last couple of fights he may be fighting for much longer.

And every fight Randy is always spoken about like he is the underdog, which always makes me laugh.
George st Pierre back on form, is good to see. The most conditioned in the UFC imo along with Sean Shirk

He will be in the UFC as a commentator after that as well imo, he is very good infront of the camera. He will be a trainer as well no doubt

I have a question about UFC.

They beat 7 bells of shit out of each other.... LOADS of blood and major pain/injurys.....

So, why do they stop if they lose the gumguard? Surely the fact he's knee'ing the other bloke in the head, means losing a tooth is fairly minor?

Or am I missing something?

A good punch/knee/kick to the mouth would almost certainly result in loosing teeth without a gumshield, and in many cases, causing permanant damage. Cuts and bruises heel in a couple of days so no lasting effects.

I see what your saying though mate , although theres VERY few serious injuries in the UFC due to it being so well organised.

Yeah it was nandrolone. Think he got a year ban and a small fine. Should have been stripped of the title imo. He was twice over the limit so 'maybe' it was just a geniune mistake, or maybe not. Professional fighters should not make mistakes when it comes to things like that though.

NV August 6, 2007 – At a hearing in Los Angeles today, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) granted a continuance for UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk’s appeal of his positive test for the banned substance “Nandrolone” after his July 7th win over Hermes Franca at UFC 73 in Sacramento.

Sherk’s attorney Howard L. Jacobs requested the continuance to allow time to acquire documentation from the laboratory where the drug tests were conducted.

Hermes Franca, who tested positive for “Drostanolone” after his July 7 bout with Sherk, was also present at today’s hearing. Franca admitted to taking the substance and the CSAC suspended him for one year beginning July 7 and fined him $2,500.

It is expected that Sherk’s continued appeal will take place at the CSAC’s next meeting in October.

Pete!! go and get your tissues you’re going to cry you eyes out with this....

“… Randy Couture was informed Sunday by doctors that he’d broken his arm during his third round TKO stoppage of Gabriel Gonzaga. Couture sustained the injury Saturday blocking a Gonzaga right high kick with his left forearm, cleanly separating the ulna bone…. The injury placed the UFC heavyweight champion’s arm in a splint for six weeks. The appendage will not need a cast.”
Fortunately, the injury does not seem serious. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise, providing the training and public relations workhorse with some much-need time off.
