We still stand by its a drive shaft issue or as Kelvin says the front diff area!........
But it was getting louder the closer to home we got!
But Mike got home okay, so we'll wait and see whats up with it!........

It does it under load, deaccelerating and also out of gear and rolling (but to a lesser extent), so if anyone has any ideas ?
The car was scary quick and I daren't run it at any more than 1.6 bar all weekend. It was then Mike's turn for a passenger ride in it, so I thought I would do a lap by myself to warm the tyres up and as it was the last day, try it on full boost, as I was getting more confident with the car (and nothing had broken ).
As I was pulling out someone pleaded for a passenger lap and offered to pay for it, so as I only had a few left, I duly accpeted. The funny thing was, as we pulled out of the coned area, he asked what gearbox it was, and so I told him it was a staright cut motorsport box, to which he asked why - and I said because they don't break . We then accelerated had away from the line in first, second, third, fourth. Braked for the complex of corners and then just went for it big time, as the car was mental. Coming down hill towards Flugplatz it started to sound as if it was getting noisier, but as I hadn't yet run it on full boost, I just thought it was the extra noise that this was creating. Down the hill of the Foxhole and it had become apparant that all wasn't quite as it should be, and as we had to slow through Adenauer Forst for slower cars, I could then hear the transmission grumbling and ticking, so the run was aborted and the car limped back.
It "sounds" as though it has chipped a tooth off the main input shaft (NOT the main shaft - which is a standard part and should only fail under extreme launching and will leave you with no drive), as this is engaged all the time, and it clicks in every gear - even when it is in neutral and rolling. It doesn't appear to be a driveshaft, as the steering is totally mint, with no vibration being transmitted through the wheel, and checking these with the car jacked up revealed nothing. Also where before there was absolutely no oil leaking from the car the entire weekend, it now has a leak where the bell-housing mates to the back of the engine, which only appeared with the noise.
I'm hoping it is something simple, but need to speak to Bara first to run by the symptoms with him.
Regarding my Fixit, this is being overhauled under warranty as it had a pitting issue after 35k miles and I was also going to fit a taller fifth gear to go with my 3.9 diffs, but have now decided against that.
Also what Martin posted about the gearbox is correct, as the bearing on the fourth gear shaft let go just before I left with Harvey doing the final mapping, and it did so as it came on boost in third, hence him believing it to be this (combined with the fact that Bara confirmed that he was not surprised, as this gear was showing some signs of wear when he inspected it before it was put in my car). However, it turned out to be completely different, although perhaps it could now be the third gear - I don't know.
Obviously I am only speculating, as the 'box hasn't been stripped down in anyway.

but then we did manage to equal Kelvin 'Beanpole' Heards top speed throught the foxhole part!

Jay,
The Foxhole is the down-hill corkscrew type bit .
The fast bit is Schwedenkroutz (sp?).
JTECH,
It just understeered through right handers, but fuck it couldn't half go well round left handers .
Dave,
I think it will be missing Croft as well . It's just going to be too pushed for time to get everything sorted I think, and I don't want to be constantly rushing to get it fixed .

a shame it might not be done, you are right about not rushing it though.
hope the problem can be fixed ok and the parts uprated to stop it happening again.
are you sorry you have gone for more power or is it a question that the parts fitted were just a bit tired?

We was talking about this yesterday & think it would be good to see Mike & Phil Allenby have passenger laps in each others car. Both masters around Germany with 2 awesome cars.
