My guess is that itd go very very well, and be fun too.

This car would be about the same weight (well, maybe less, dont know exact spec of the Mk1) and has same engine, and sure looks fooookin capable...

If the car is done right then 30k is more than a fair price.

Not saying that its not worth the asking price, just amazed at the price mk1 and mk2 escorts go for these days.

Really wish i still had my mk1 mex, unfortunately it was stolen ten years ago.

I dont understand why people put jap engines in Mk1/2 escorts and ruin the whole experience though...over the years people have tried all sorts of engines and there is not much out there that will beat a tuned pinto

mark rs have u ever driven a s2000 ?

dont get me wrong the car itself is nothing speciel but that motor is fantastic !

if u got a mk1 2me they should stay with revey na motors thats what there about and the s2000 motor is the best production na motor u can get your hands on!

I have a mk1 escort mexico and it will have a proper engine in it... you have hit the nail on the head with the s2000 apart from one thing, revvy but no torque where it counts why go to all the trouble and expense of s2000/zetec/duratec/etc when you can have a 180bhp pinto for half the price in the 12's or a 400+ bhp pinto for the same price in the 10's

The K20 is a good block, mates got a type R with a stroked K20 ( its stroked to a 2.2 ) and it goes well........when it hits V-TEC. Im really not a big fan of Honda's engines, they just dont have the low down grunt you want, when you want it. Rip it out the MK1 and stick a pinto in there or even a YB
