Default Something i remembered about a Ford Orion.

...my Dad borrowed this Orion off my Uncle....around 20 years ago this was,but i just got reminded of it .....anyway it was the 1.6 Ghia and i remember it being very quick for that kinda car..but it had no mods except we was told it had a ford blue print engine in it..hence why it was quicker than the next 1600

Does anyone know about this in the late eighties?

He probally meant "Blue printed"

The art of matching components in a precise way.

(thats the way I understand that phrase)

sounds about right, everyone used to take the time and effort and have a blue printed lump. Spose the new modern engines are built better 1st time around?

From what i understand blue prints are the manufacturers ideal tolerances the ideal set of number that the engine should be produced to , but to eas of manufacture they are built within a set of tolerances , so that means the engines produce more or less power , blueprintings matching whatever imperfections to those ideal numbers , meaning a "perfect" engine

placebo i recon

when i got behind the wheel of my R5GTT i used to tell everyone it had so much power that it spun the wheels in 2nd gear

though when i stopped using the clutch and throttle as "on" "off" switches it would drive like a normal car

my old orion felt fast as fook,,,,, my BMW when people drive feel is very pokey,,,,, though i nail the fucker in all gears round town and find it slow as fuck,,,, though i scare the shite out of anyone who gets in the car

oh and the cossie started to feel slow till i drove my escort cabrio again and it felt quick again,,, and before the smart coments my cossie was holding 27.5psi to the limiter and ran lean in 4th and 5th above 6krpm on greens,,, so no it wasnt a slow cossie claiming big figures,,,, cant fake held boost and low fueling on injectors
