I was planning a 4" downpipe splitting into two 3" same as rapidcossie's. Will just be sticking with my 3" mongoose justnow but was looking ahead as think i will be going for a big turbo next year.
Thats a good price for the quality of your system looking at the pics

fucking grand for a exhaust, fuck that

theres a few other places about to think of, there aint much to a exhaust system apart from the bends

when you see whats inside them too and you pay a grand,,, christ on a bike

the ones i sell at work ok are mild steel but we pay from 6 quid for astra backbox to 97 quid for a bmw cat

if the chinese knew what they could sell them for

Jus so happens their might be loads of bends, awkward places to route the pipes (larger diameter than standard) the silencers....

its jus so NOT a case of welding a few pipes together Ginge!

most of the prices quoted is probably labour alone, sais it all really.

Andy had H&S do him a custom exhaust from the turbo back

A mate of mine rang H&S a few weeks ago to get one on his car but it was 4-6 weeks to wait before they could fit him in as they were so busy.

ive used H&S a few times and been really pleased with them until they done my old 996 911 porsche it cost 1400 and sounded awfull just like a nova with a peco i was gutted really anoyed as it didnt sound at all like a 911 should.

anyway i went back explained the problem they agreed and put all the old exhaust on and refunded me which i was really happy with so customer services are good too.

sorry to piss on your chips guys but i work for a large exhaust company so i know EXACTLY whats in a exhaust and what they cost

i also now exaclty whats inside a box, how they make em quieter and whats inside a cat

i know what exhausts fit and what dont and if theres anything im unsure of its MY job to find the reason and sort it

hence my thinking there a fucking overpriced exhaust

theres a place in basildon called flowtech who also make exhausts as we supply them with parts and systems ect, speak to terry if you wanna know whats available

though i already know your part of the car world whos belief is " its twice as much as i wanted to pay when i thought of is so it MUST be better"

simpson are fucking good too might i add

oh and the most comon reason for returning a exhaust is " it dont sound like the one you took off"

btw i just bought a rear section bmw M3 exhaust system today for my bm and i paied,,,,,,,,,

A PENNY !!!!!

yes not shitting you i got it for a penny as it was returned as faulty cause it was too loud for the customer who bought it

i can get a custom exhaust to any spec made for my car for alot less than a grand,,,, infact im getting one done for my car for a drink

If you compare 2 side by side then you can see where the extra money comes from...i've had a good look at Andy Wornell's and it's amazing quality, the welds are extremely tidy and everything looks well crafted.

Custom parts are always more expensive, and GOOD quality custom parts even more so.

Think the price of materials goes up a lot between 3" and 3.5"/4" bends as there a lot harder to make without deforming.

It would cost you that much in just materials these days! The price of stainless has gone through the roof when compared to a few years ago.

A stainless 3" bend has pretty much trippled in price in the last 3 years.

I had my (show) half rollcage made by them for my xr2, constructed and welding inside the car, 2in diameter looked pukka.

They got some weld marks on the window mind

Cost about a grand.

My made needed an exhaust for his rs1600i he was about to sell, they said to him "don't bother coming here mate as we'll want more than you want for the car"
