My car was just insured with a normal insurance company and that covered me, they paid out for both my car and the damage to the track.

Not always a case of "fixing" your car at the ring though, a very high percentage of accidents seem to be a write off rather than a bit of damage.

Sorry to hear of metal worm invasion on beasty; i too think i have found an outbreak on my outer rear wing on the m, doh! Dont think has moved internal to the structure, yet, but guess it is all a matter of time!!!

I have passed my polishing proficency grade 1 badge, and am now allowed to move on to bigger and more powerful beasts!

Ref the rust - cant be that bad if it is German matey - they will last forever.

Brakes demons are recent, and I am hoping it is something simple, but must be sorted, as I need to have faith in them before Germany.

Saturday - travel to the ring. Taking the 12:20 train out. Arrive at Nurgy at about 19:00.

Spend two nights at the ring in the Hotel An Der Nordchliefe (Sat night and Sun Night).

Monday, spend at the ring all day, then when track closes, make way back to Brussels to spend night in Holiday Inn Express (breaks up the journey).

Then return rest of way back on Tuesday morning.

Plus if you flashed at me it was probably becasue i was driving like a chav and thought you waggin your finger at me so i would have probably not clocked you (sorry)

If it was on the berrow/lympsham road i was probably trying to set the new world land speed record down that road, its an epic road (made better if you actually know the corners and the severity (seen a lot of cars completely totalled in those ditches!!))

Re: Nurgburg.
You would love it, and should be yet another good trip. Hope you can gather enough pennies together to make it.

I am currently trying to clear the credit card so that i can fund another trip over!! I am still paying off the last trip.

yeah i LOVE that road used to drive it twice a day 6/7 days a week last year when i was working in brean, the return journey normally in the early hours of the morning! i got to know it well! ive done some horrific speeds down that road though, properly bad!

not been to weston in a couple of months but hopefully having this sunday night off so will be down there, hopefully see you there if you can make it!

The hotel is just about perfect, you can buy 1/2 lap tickets and get on the track within 100yds of your pit, plus it has 24hr free porn on the tv system!!!!

XR2i - jeeez, a chiped e90 335 is going to be some tool at the Ring (mental check. I cant believe i am actually bigging up a diesel.....*sigh* what has the workd come to)

I was very impressed with Paul's e90 335 petrol in April and in the right hands would have decimated my M, as it was he doggedly hung on to my tails, so fair play to both him and the car. I think the diesel is going to be some to tool to watch for. Mental note, dont go out in front of a 335 diesel!!!

Stu - That berrow road is great, just great. If you were working down there you wold have a much better handle on the bends than me, i am just playing at it. Very technical. I think though, that once you get your car control together and get smooth you can attack pretty much anything. This road just ups the bar a little.

Shame the project car wont be ready in time. I dont think the Escort would ne the best car to haul over in. Still, theres a lot of time between nw and then.
