chips been talking me into going in the escort change of pads, brake fluid and ive been thinking about a possible suspension upgrade, i carry so much shit in the back of it some heavier poundage springs wouldnt go a miss, and some adjustable shocks might aswell be thrown in for good measure. its an estate though so dont know what the options are!

the only things i need for the car is inlet/loom/management package ive decided on, driveshafts, front shocks back from leda, rear springs and a bonnet....its just the time and space to get it all done. its a bare shell at the mo. it would be awesome to take it though....hmmm. trouble is out of the next 6 weeks im away for at least 3

Skank reckons they are warped as well. They were fine until about lap 10 last trip, so i either cooked them on the ring (which i doubt as i am not one of the last brakers) or as the heat builds up it is showing something else is slightly worn?

Stu - I didnt realise you had so much to do the project car to get her running - still the escort would be good fun!

Ref Brakes - you could be right, though I still have my reservations on your gurus bedding in procedure.

If they are warped, maybe I can get Tipton to sort out on the ol laithe?

Let me know

I think this migh tbe an idea. Would they be able to test to see whether they are warped or not? And if yes, can they lathe them flat? Discs have only done 3k on them.

Myself and Phill 2400 are considering joining in the shenanigans!

Really enjoy going over to the Ring, and will be a chance to see some great road drivers giving it some over there! JJ vs Silver... got to be worth tagging along to see that!

Dates added to calendar - now just go to put the car back together:

Nah, only kidding! That's a pic of the car as it stands today, having just finished pulling the last items of any value off the shell! Got a mad week of Ebaying ahead of me, to fund the bits I've been buying for the new toy!

I plan to be travelling in something I sincerely hope will be a bit more reliable than my Cossie:

All going to plan that is...

I sincerely hope so, otherwise the warranty is going to be taking a hammering!

I hope it can better my 8:30 personal best over there with the Cossie.. if not then a Stroker kit, and a GT35 or larger will be finding it's way under the bonnet!

Loom will be on Ebay - it's a fancy braided Dingy / Clawtel Looms one

I have the original loom as well somewhere, but that will be sold whole as well as was in working order when I took it out.

Fuel pump wiring was just some random thick cable we had loafing about in the garage, not worth much now as it's a bit chopped about!

Stu - Shame you are not able to make it this trip. I think this is going to be a good one. Some really good metal going over this trip.

SiB - love the new runner!!! very nice, dont know much about model types on the Mits, what is the spec/model of yours. Looking good in the pic.

Glad you and Phil are coming over. looking forward to catching up.

JJ - ha, i know what you mean.... i wouldnt have liked to be in the passenger seat *gulp* 8.30 is quickkkkkk

Terrifying - yep! Scared the pants off myself on most of the corners. I HAD to do it though, as a friend of mine said he had done the same in his well modded Golf GTi Turbo. Turned out he was mistaken and had done a 9:30!!!

After that I calmed things down a tiny bit. 8:40s were straight forward if the traffic was favourable. My brother does 9:30s in his Pug 205 now, so he is more than quick enough in that poky little car.

Looking forward to seeing what the M5, M3 and new Evo will do

Balls, just double checked the dates with my boss - 2 of my 7 colleagues have already got that week off. Shit.

I'll have a negotiate with the MD tomorrow and see if I can pay for an Ageny Driver out of my own money.

Arse.

It's nowt special Gareth - it's a Evo 8 260 - as in just 260 broken horse powers

Tidy though, and 3 years old, so the newest car I've ever owned.

No 8:30s this year, or ever again unless I get as comfy with this car as I was with my Cossie. As ropey as it was, it was quite quick on the track.

Must try and go smoother and follow the damn lines if I get to go this year....

Will know for deffo tomorrow, and then book up if I get the OK.

Si - nice car matey - very impressed!

I managed an 8:38 with my cos, though that was on normal tyres. IIRC it was likewise somewhat ragged.

Getting smoother now, and re-approaching the same mark in a slightly less frightening way!

You wont be seeing the M5 in action - that has done her ring-trip, and wont be coming out unless it forecasts piss-it-down-with-rain all weekend weather. (Chip is being kept away from the Cos to prevent his sabotage!!!!)

Get your MD sorted out and get yer arse across mate

Definately agree with this; i want to see the Evo strutting her thang on the track! Good luck tomorrow with the MD.

Can we get another PF member to step in for two days and pass themselves off as you? Your MD wont know, he will be sunning himself!!!

Could maybe pick you up on the way through if you could meet us somewhere on the Somerset to Dover run Jim?

Or do your best to drag some of your crowd along!

jim doesn't live in kent - he's one of these londoners that don't really want to live in london and can't admit that everything inside of the M25 is actually london and not kent or surrey or middlesex or wherever

Excellent Stu, glad to hear it.

Wonder if you'll be there with the Escort again? Would be fun to see that being hussled around the track

Booking the ferry in the next day or two - anyone know if Jim is still considering the run over?
