Default cossie blue smoking on full boost?

ok

need some help please lads

the last couple of days my car has used almost 2 sumps of oil

now as im usually out at night i carnt see any smoke

so today i took it for a blast

it only smokes when full boost is hit accelcerating, let off and nothing on over run

nothing when it starts up from cold, or just general driving about

so i thought it would be my rings, but i done a comprssion check and they are all on 140psi bang on

so now i think its top end

the turbo is fine aswell

so this leaves me with valve guides or stem seals i think?

but if these are worn then wouldnt they smoke on start up when cold

could anyone shed some light as what the problem could be

as its really annying now and costing me and arm and a leg in oil

there are no leaks and no contamination in water either, so its definitly burning it or spitting it out the exhaust either way

also would a leak down test tell me anything, if so how do i do it?

thanks

engine is std internally bar grp a gasket and running stage 3 at 25psi

thanks

compression has nothing to do with the oil control ring

i doubt it would be the top end using that much oil, i would say rings mate but how gutted are you guna be if you JUST put a set of rings in it and it doesnt cure it.......your beeter off getting a new set of pistons and getting the block bored and doin the whole job right rather than just risking doing the rings..

Have fun whichever way you choose

reason i say its not rings

is the oil ring is at the bottom so if the compression test is exactly the same across all 4 then surely it wouldnt be gettin to the oil rings

what do i need to do for a leak down test as this will tell me if the oil rings are knackered would it not?

i dont want to take the engine out if its top end which im thinking it is

a head is easier to take off and have done than take the bottom end out out

so if i can get to do a leak down test and this comes back ok i know its not the rings

internally the engine looked like new, still had honing marks in bores and has only done 80k at std boost until i chucked 25 psi down it a wekk later and its doing this

oh ad it only smokes on full boost i can run around 18 and it doesnt smoke

10 liters is a lot of oil to use in a couple of days, check the breather system is clear and up to the job.

turbo is fine

if teh turbo seal was gone then it would do it on tick over ?

breather is a spec-r grp a breather

breaths from inlet, crank under turbo, rocker cover all ito a seperator and into a catch tank

the catch tank has a tiny bit in it thats it

i know the breather is upto the job

how do you know its fine?

The compression test - did you do it wet as well as dry and note any difference?

i only know how to do a normal compression test mate

whats this wet and dry lark

do you mean fill te bores up with oil and then do a compression check?

usually when a turbo oil seal has gone it would be smoking on tick over as its dripping into the exhaust housing and there would usually be a leak on the core somewhere

plus it would do it at any set boost amount not just on full

i can have the turbo checked out for nothing as its brand new just means the car not on the road for a couple of days but im 100% its not turbo

ill do it tomorrow now then

ive just looked at the water and it looked black?

so just done a water change and it was clear no anti freeze in there well it wasnt blue water anyhow and i know it had antifreeze in it

so just refilled again and the water going back into the tank was white but has no cleared up

so could it be headgasket now

i dont know really starting to annoy me now and i think im going t have to pull the lot out and do a fresh rebuild

more money than what i wanted to spend on the thing

think ill wait until something bad happens now unless its self destructs
