I had a 1996 Bright Yellow Seado xp when i lived in herne bay used to love it

As said they drink more than a cossie used to cost me Ł40 -Ł50 just to take it out for the weekend Was so much fun tho! Dohnuts at sea are the bollox lol Engine rebuild costs more than a cossie to as i found out

Don't get a stand up one or your spend most the time in the water

I have owned a couple of them and they are pukka and fun to get out on, however they can cost a lot to maintain and as stated above when engines go pop it can be very costly,

1st one I owned was an early type of two seater kawasaki x2 sold that and replaced it with a stand up kawasaki 750 sx

stand up skis are more fun imo, you get wet more often and freestyle tricks are in abundance, sit down skis are big and boring and doughnuts on the water is their only trick

Sorry no pics of mine as it was about ten years ago

my mates got a sitown SeaDoo GTI. Like has been said, you do get pretty bored quickly on the sitdowns. Especially on a lake where you dont even have waves to jump like the sea.

StandUps look loads of fun though and the tricks ive seen them do down the lake are sick . Wouldnt fancy being on the sea with one unless it was really calm as it was pretty hairy on the SitDown. Especailly when we went from Bounemouth to the Isle White onit

One very good thing about the Sitdowns though is you can tow things with them. We have towed a kneeboard off the back amongst other things and that was really good fun. Took awhile to get the hang of though

G/f's dad has a Yamaha 1200cc thing that is about 7 years old now. It can seat 4 people and only 12 came into Oz. Not a Seadoo, will see if I can find some electronic pics as most are paper.

He and I have been 60mph on it accross the bay when it was like a mill pond but even the slightest ripple at that speed rocks you. They are a lot of fun but agree with Gareth, I get bored so quickly on them as its not like a car with different corners/braking/surfaces etc on the road/race track.

They are not cheap when they go wrong and he has had a partial rebuild under warranty during the first year. They also need thorough cleaning after each use due to the salt water.

i don't think you can get the same adrenalin rush from a boat, my ski will run rings round most speed boats, quicker acceleration and its more agile, plus mine has a ready made ice box for the beers.
