Default Ebay newbie question

Do you get charged anything for advertising an item whether it sells or not?

For eg, if the item sells & the buyer pays me cash or does a bank transfer & I end the auction early will I still get charged anything?

Thanks

yes.

thats the simple answer even if you end it early/ lower the reserve/ do othe stuff you still get charged.
the first thing i ever sold on ebay was a mini. the reserve was 3.5k to keep the messers off, which was about £40 quid iirc. the car didn't sell in ebay but i still got the invoice, and have sold a few bits since.

i personally wouldn't bother though unless you want the exposure. the endless amounts of daft questions are soul destroying.

"how much to end it now"
" will you post"
"will you split them " (four alloys that auction was!! )
and you just ruin your feedback. i had some foreign guy bid on some alloys then expected me to post them to sweden, i said no was and he left me bad feedback. i wouldn't have minded so much but he managed to bid in pounds. and people arguing over silly things, i sold an orion on there and the guy came round to collect it, started kicking the tyres and haggling just full of messers mate. (but you know that )
