Default PASSIONFORD.. what rooms do you use?

I have just spent the whole morning brewing the escort cosworth, turbo and sierra cosworth rooms and found them.

A) Totally on topic.

B) Totally friendly.

C) Totally devoid of "Smiley Only" Answers.

D) Full of usefull replys from knowledgable people.

E) No garbage muppet topics in sight.

Very pleasant indeed... reminds me why i once loved this place.

General discussion, Politics and Problems and the Dummy room for me.

Too many rooms IMO.

I remember when this was a Ford and no banter place

I read them rooms, but very rare I post - mainly due to not wanting to :

A) Give bad advice.

B) I don't own one of the said cars anymore, even tho I have had plenty of experience with them.

C) Not many people see my information as valuable even if it is the right information.

They are however, a very good read in them rooms when I do get the chance to studdy and see whats going on out of GD

gd, occasion muppet and escos and sierra rooms on the whole

on the other hand, perhaps the mods in the cossie rooms aren'rt as lenient as the mods in gd

muppet mods tend to let most things slide

I think 50% or more of the posts in General Discussion could & should be in more appropriate sections, i tried to play the game but now i'm as bad as most cause unless we all do it whats the point in a few trying

Afraid it's only General Discussion, sometimes I look in Passionford Policies & Problems and Misplaced your Dummy if a thread has been moved there.

I sort of agree with Simon (68332) there's a few too many rooms.

I do wish that all ebay, youtube or any video link, PistonHeads 'for sale' links et al were all posted in Interesting Links though instead of cluttering up GD.

As the owner of the forum you should run it with the ethics, principles and values you personally hold and anything you consider to be a waste of space should have the appropriate action taken.
You use the phrase 'reminds me why I once loved this place' which obviously means you no longer do, other members may feel the same and use past tense like yourself.
The values and the type of posting on the forum currently can only be blamed upon the fact that staff and management allow it and find it acceptable, likewise these are the only people who can redefine and change these values.

Personally I hope you do take action.

if you saying about the banter ( lets insult people but iyt dont matter its only the internet)threads i tottaly agree i think they should be binned straight away

but then the webteam are seen as over modding

lyn again i agree there is a link room for the ebay stuff ect but again loads of whinging wheres my post , so by following the rules as a mod you end up with a GD full of wheres my thread

There's a few people on this forum who go out to cause trouble and then sit back and watch it turn into a war.

I know its slightly off topic but I think the unbanning of the C word
has made things much worse for the whole site.
This has indirectly allowed the banter to overtake the enthusiasm for cars !

( Yes I know I use it myself too much )

Isn't there a facility on phpBB whereby when a thread is moved, it can leave a redirect to it, like you can with vBulletin and InVision?

I mainly use the sierra cosworth and for sale sections...as been said it keeps on topic with out the bullshit thats normaly found in General. I started to use General a bit but soon got bored with getting dragged into arguments with people miss-interpretting each other's posts So mainly just have a read now..except on this occassion lol

Im back off to the Sierra room now, where we all hold hands and sing Kum-by-yar around the camp fire

The Esc Cos room rocks

GD is a bit sucky these days only seems to be handful of usual suspects posting (most don't even own fords) and people playing who has the biggest tuner cock.. which is sad

But then you waste your time moving it as it still is there taking up space. The benifet of that is people will see the thread more but then it might aswel be left where it is as it is still taking up the same space is was to begin with.

Disagree, it might just make people realise that those type of threads should be posted elsewhere.

There's far too many lazy users on PF.... in fact I'd go as far to say selfish, lazy users. Stu and Pet have taken the time to set up specific forums, but they aren't being used as they should be, because people take the lazy way and find it so much easier to post 'everything' in GD because they're basically idle.

I use:

GD
RS Cosworth Parts for sale
Parts Wanted
Cars for Sale
Paul Ripleys Escort Cosworth Monte room ( in all seriousness, the Escort Cosworth room is prob the best on the Forum, just a little slow sometimes )
Sapphire and 3 door room

Is a hard one to call really, part of the appeal of GD is that it is fast moving and varied, when it was split into two rooms a while ago it was rubbish . The 2 main problems I can see are 1) too many "you tube" links and 2) muppet room worthy posts being left in GD etc.. No one cares what you had for breakfast

PF is still a top site though lots of great people and mainly good helpful advice

I just don't visit as often as I used to as frankly I can't be fucked with all the sniping, bitching and Ebay / YouTube links (which really fuck me off). If I want to know what's on either of the aforementioned sites I'll look my fucking self. I don't want everyone here telling me.
