I rang a solicitor who studied the law, passed exams, went to Law School, got a degree and has been doing it for 30 years.... not some Administration Clerk on minimum wage answering phones in between searching for a new job on tinterweb

Paul, this went to court, we won. The point about "reasonable time for refusal" was stated by our solicitor, the judge AND it's in black and white on the sales of Goods Act and the addendum I posted which is specific to used cars.

And for whoever said before about using precedent in the High Court, do you have any idea how much it would cost to put a case for a few grands worth of used car through the High Court system?

It's County Court which is different in many ways

My mate had a 306 1.4 with a similar issue, we never solved it.

Get it sold, get something cheaper and less complicated and get your ass to work.

Put it down to experience mate.
