Default odd running problem... pls help

ok, my m8s just bought a fiesta turbo
got a couple of questions as i know nothing about them

the car idles very high. around 2500rpm

checked for air leaks, couldnt find any
then when i unplugged the idle control valve the car died, this suggests to me theres no air leak also.
but dont the idle valves work like on a cossie where they just stablise the revs? and it should work without it plugged in?

i checked the wiring to the valve and it works, and put another valve on that works fine, still got the problem.

changed the ecu, no help,

changed the coil, no help

changed the map sensor (to help with other problem to)

adjusted the base idle, would make it rev higher but not lower
any1 got any ides?

also when driving in lowish revs it runs fine but when the revs build and it makes some boost it runs very badly, popping and banging and boggin down a lot, i think the timings out but havent had a chance to look

any1 got any ideas?

if you can get a co meter measure the co content, and then perhaps weaken the fuel mixture via the fuel pressure regulator, sounds like it running very rich,

needs a full set up, id suggest just taking it to a tuners
