i believe Rathbones was in Wigan anyway.

nice bread that.

L8 way is the Toxteth area, back of liverpool on the way out.

around then, everyone had mk.2's,so too many to know each other really.

only the local area around the north of liverpool that i knew.

i remember my uncle owned who was in to RAC rallys and stuff like that used to own a old escort with a wierd front end and when he died at the age of 45 hes car was sold for a few hundred quid

was a rs2000 with lots of things fitted to it too i was told a few years ago by hes son

strange how when we was young we ignore these cars and now we would love one

my old man used to have a mk3 cortina in some sort of yellowy beige colour and both my cousins had mk4 cortinas when they passed there tests, one of em had a 1.6 basic thing and my other one had a 2.0 i think that was bad on fuel,,,, hes one was a greeny colour

so yes i guess it is cause we grew up with them

but then they sold them and one got a e reg saloon maestro ( who the fuck named that car btw)but was a good few years after and my other cousin who was fed up of old car problems bought a brand new car,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, a E reg skoda in grey and thats when i learned skoda jokes as everyone ripped the piss out of him,,,, hes car taste seems to have got worse though as he replaced it with a brand new J reg rover 216 GSI in british racing green, he got it at no vat due to him being based in germany when he was in the army,,,,, so thats when i stopped getting interested in cars my family owned

i sold my rs2000 to buy a S2 RST, the difference in the cars..electric windows, heaters that worked , just very nice to drive.

never had one problem with that car, ragged it,chipped it up at Castle performance, tuned at Collins,Turbosystems etc...

nothing went wrong with it,excellent car in their day.

not mine,, my old man never paied more than 50 quid for a car when i was young the tight cunt

the BEST car he ever owned was a audi 80 in blue with electric sunroof,,, he gave 50 quid and hes old car that basil faulty had in faulty towers

hes first car was the cortina,,, then when he passed hes test ( yeah and the fucker used to mention it to me when i was doing what he did ) he got a hillman imp,,,, fuck knows why either but he did

then another cortina mk3 in a pukka metalic greeny blue colour that someone had sprayed and then that faulty towers motor and then the audi which the issues he had with that car,,,,, he then lost hes business and went poor and we moved to london to be poor and have no friends either

oh i forgot this !!!

my cousin swopped hes skoda for a f reg silver mk2 xr2 when he went into boy racer stage and fitted flurecent pink "xr2" up both sides of the car going diagnal and the original xr2 badge swopped to match the colour of it,,,, that car got him know round hes area and some bird stalked him that he later married ( twice actually ) that car was fucking pukka

had " ==XR2=== " on the rear screen too and fake fingers on the boot lid and paint spash on the bonnet in pink

he sold that car to another girl who offered him silly cash for it and bugged him down the iron horse to sell it as she loved it,,,, there was some sort of scandle there too i remember

he did sell it to her and married hes missus too not long after which was linked and bought a G reg 3 door escort estate

hes love of cars seems to have come back too as the second time he divorced that same bird he sold hes house and bought a golf GTTDI brand new and the reason for buying it was i thought was the pukka power and torque

the reason he bought it was for the seats, he got it cheeper as it was blue and the only reason he looked at it was HES PETROL CARD AT HES WORK IS ONLY FOR DIESEL

yes he bought it as he stole fuel from hes work

the only erst ive ever owned was grey, never liked em in any other colour tbh

i bought a orion ghia i in grey as i wanted a grey erst and my first ever car was a grey xr3i E622YNO,,,, i bought it for 3k ( robbed 50 quid a day out the till and saved till i could afford one ) bought a exhaust for it, got a cam fitted to the engine, fitted a erst kit, trim, 90 spec bumper and rear spoiler and parked it outside my shop and used to sit in it and play the stereo,,,,, only just started taking driving lessons you see

anyway a mate of mine from school came out on the piss with me so after the pub i took him out for a spin in the car, we done this every night for about 2 weeks just driving round the block

used to nail it too and then brake, one night i got a little too confident and nailed it,,,,,, it got stuck in gear and i remember looking down then getting into 5th, looking up and seeing a house, old BMW 3 series and a concrete lamp post,, i aimed for the lamp post and hit the brakes,,,,, got out the car and my mate was having issues breathing, got the cowling off and pulled the black switch off the igniton and ran like fuck back to my shop

remember the next day waking up hoping it was a dream

anyway called the police and reported it stolen,, still rememebr them asking " what makes you think its been stolen then" and my reply was " was outside the shop when i locked up and theres a van now parked there and its not fucking mine ! '

anyway i had a fat lip, cut on the head where i hit the screen and my chest hurt from the steering wheel, talking to the police about my " stolen car"

they let me go on and on for ages then when they was leaving the copper said to me

" dont me such a cock next time, learn from it" and left me to collect my car from the pound,

you could step inside the bonnet area and the headlamps would be behind you

i gave the keys to a bloke i worked with to get rid of and the cunt broke it and earned almost 1500 quid from the fucker !!!

like to have said i learned but i never

no i was just a little shite when i was young, we was the first lot to jack mopeds and back them days it was hard as there wasnt as many about nor was there motorcycle bays to making searching for them easier

was billy whizz back then too,,,, from there we decided to learn to drive,,, tried fords but couldnt get in so went to unos but couldnt get the stering lock off so then my cousin from walthamstow told me what hes mates where up to and told me about novas and astras

them 1.6 astras where fucking fast !!!!

when i turned 17 i had to stop all that as i was getting in trouble for not opening the shop due to not being relesed until 11:30

gave it all up till i almost turned 19 and i bought a 1.2 nova and me and a pal got hold of a nova gte and converted it to a gte replica

THEN 2 WEEKS AFTER HAVING IT DONE SOME THEIVING CUNT IN STRATFORD NICKED IT and i had to go to the old bill after clubbing to report my car stolen,,,, another bad move might i add

thats when i turned into the bastian of society you see now,, bought a orion and turboed it and then,,, well fuck all as that was nicked by a friend who stripped it and i turned into a bit of a junkie

the only reason i got back into cars was to stop be going out and getting slashed and nikki bought me a erst to focus me on getting of drugs ( well that worked has to be said )

anyway i had that car for 3 days,, was showing off to a mate the power of it ( was 14psi i think ) and i smacked a speed bump where they started fitting the fuckers down this road i used to test my cars on and race my mates years before when i was "driving" astras/novas and metros

i blamed nikki and my other mate who went with her to suprise me for buying a shit car as the chassis rail had a bad repair and the speed bump cracked it and you could step on the towing eye and make the cros member touch the floor

then i got my first cabrio and wanted to convert it to a turbo

nikki went on holiday and i was ment to join her the week later to meet her family in malta,,,,, then i got a quote of 500 quid to convert my car from a place and i never bothered to meet her out there

when it was done i took nikki away on holiday ( had to make it up to her as she bought all the cars and the cash on the conversion came from the cash she gave me to meet her out there

then i got nicked for driving ect and so stopped, nikki got pregnant so i had to grow up, passed my test, went legal and then bought a computer as we couldnt go out and found the rsowners club and thats how i came here

the dido sticker was a 90's thing though, i had that on my xr3i

the first person i ever seen with that was one of the guys from " soul to soul" band who lived opposite me, he had a cortina with that on the bonnet when i was in secondry school

the other thing was " essec country club" sticker as well as " why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly"

ironic cause ive NEVER smoked ANYTHING in my life
