Glad the weather held off, brilliant day as usual & always good to catch up with everyone.

I fell asleep by Lee's Mk1 & got burnt but good to see his car there & performing some good times

Well done to all the Ford/Cossie powered boys for taking part especially Karl's brother Sunbeam who seem to be enjoying the handling section

Some very sexy looking fords there, but other than Stevie's vauxhall engined granada I didnt see any managing to actually pull the numbers.
He did fantastically well though, 10s in quarter and 190+ in top speed

The white mk1 looked great on the handling circuit, wasnt actually running very good times when I saw him, but was a real crowd pleaser going sideways everywhere

Cheers mate,

We had an eventful weekend if nothing else! Many thanks for the use of your seive - the mesh out of it was perfect to cover what was left of the compressor inlet!

I've just got in and am shattered. Less than 2 hours sleep in the last 48 hours...

Not a bad result though, 4th overall in a car that was removed from the tyrewall after an 80mph impact less than 24 hours before
Here ya go Will [from MLR]

Nice shades btw

it was my first time at totb and had top day, everybody was realy friendly the only down side was the lack of fords, which i dont get because there are plenty of quick cars on here that would have put some realy good times in .
i shall be there next year even though the car is not that quick compared to alot of the cars that were there yesterday but from what people said yesterday they like to see some of the old skool cars going round.
i`ve got footage of daz, paul norris, the white mk1 and my mk1 so will get them posted on here soon.
cheers lee

How the hell does a FWD car ever manage to sound quicker than 11.97 on concrete?

As far as im aware thats less than a 1/3rd of a second slower than the quickest time ever run at elvington on road legal FWD tyres, so I fail to see how it could sound like it was quicker than it was?

Yeah only the nova went on the handling this year, although two of the lads there this year placed in top 10 for handling last year, they were both more interested in the changes made to their engine for this year and seeing what it would do on the quarter and with the handling queue taking SO long this year, they didnt deem it worth the amount of runs they would have missed.

Shame as im sure they could have been competitive again!

Depends on what you are there for I guess, I like seeing real road cars that have been built to a sensible price, so to me I was more interested in the FWD class than in the others really as other than stevie's granada, they were mainly massive budget cars built by tuners etc.

They all rely on slicks from what ive seen, although there may be one or two who dont.

Ive never personally seen an 11 from a R5 without slicks.

Theres a whole load of mis-infomation on here!

Roger Clark Impreza was overall champion, even though he didnt compete in the drag finals as they had a prob right at the end.
(150k spent on that car BTW, ill put money it was cars there with even more spent).

It was over 1 mile the top speed run.

JUN Lemon did a best of 10.1 when out in Japan IIRC, its massivley different now, and faster.

Keith Cowie did 0-200mph in 14.7seconds and just over 2000feet, which is a bit mental.

Viper won the drag shootout as Andy Forrest stalled his scooby on the line in the final.

Fantastic cars overall, you could be in the 10s and still not be in the top20 in the quarter!

MR2 Turbos and Vauxhalls were most impressive. Seriously fast MR2s, 10.4sec quarter at best.

And there are R5GTTs in the 11s not on slicks, thats for sure. They just dont seem that arsed with TOTB, esp as their top speeds would all be 140odd where the box tops out, and if put longer gears itd fuck their acceleration.

In what way? All running the original 3SGTE engine, which is silly strong and gives good power (stock crank and rods good for 700bhp IIRC). Seemed to mostly be running 500bhp sorta spec turbos, but dont know exactly. No major suspension re-workings needed.

Also the Fensport Celica did its best ever times, 10.3 and 195.9mph, not bad for a track car, faster quarter at last than the legendart Fensport Corolla, and its 3sec a lap faster round most circuits than the old car, so much better really.

Yup, get the latest Redline to see the car in mega and i mean MEGA detail, they not at all secretive about anything, so every engine and suspension spec detail all in there, about the most detailed feature on any car youve likely to see in a mag infact.

And I wrote it all too, so its amazing, of course, lol

That scooby is awesome, I still cant get my head around the way people view Evo's as so superior to scooby's when clearly they arent really.
