That guy is unreal, must have a special brain to do that 
I have RC heli's and it just bows me away, I'm sure anyone who's flown/attempted to fly them (ie who knows how hard it is) has much respect for that guys talent

A gyro is indeed onboard RC heli's, all it does though is try and keep the nose of the heli in a straight line by powering the tail rotor to stop the rotational forces of the rotor blades turning the whole helicopter.
They aren't exactly totally effective though as every heli I've flown still needs tail input (especially on take off)
The skill of the pilot is when the heli is coming towards you etc, it's one thing being able to hover a heli tail in but another ball game nose in (nose towards you) as it reverses some the cyclic controls.

I have recently bought a MASH 4077th helicopter.
Trust me they are awsomely hard to fly IMO, on my third set of rotor blades, best £90 ever spent ace fun so rewarding when you get it right, trouble is I have not been rewarded yet!!
I watched the man in the shop fly it around like it was putting him to sleep with being so easy.
Hand eye co ordination is needed BIG TIME.
Took me over and hour just to get it to fly 1 " off the floor carefully, then the table leg jumped out at it and got lots of marks on it, and ANOTHER set of blades needed, other half not impressed when she saw the table legs though, "glad you don't fly the real thing she said", bloody cheek.
I think when you have learnt they are easy it is just learning that is hard, and expensive.
My advice is go and get one, ace fun, mine is contra rotating blades on mine, as these are "supposed" to be easier.
