I've heard mostly good about them, a few bad things too. I had a bad experience and gone back to mintex c-tech pads, just prefer the bite on the ctechs vs ds2500's

I have used DS2000/2500, but did not like them at all.
I found they faded too easily and had a very dead feel to them, took a lot of warming up before worked decently.
I changed to EBC REDSTUFF CERAMIC, they are way better, apart from being dustier, plenty of feel, only faded once.
Have also used over the years Mintex 1144 1155, Pagid.

Found them very very good, from bite to extended use. Will be staying with them
Regularly supplied with large AP kits, so can't be bad.

The DS2000 material wasn't really up to the job on heavy Cosworths, hence why it was discontinued some years ago from the whole Ferodo range.

The DS2500s are also really only fast-road pads and to be any good in a Cossie, it is essential that they have good fluid (high wet boiling point) and braided hoses. On track, you will still find them a little wanting though, if used with the OE Ford 2wd calipers, due to the fact that these are cast (pig) iron and just cannot dissipate any heat, so put all this into the pads, and the DS2500 material can't take it and overheat.

The DS2500 is okay on alloy calipers and seems to perform better the bigger the discs (due to better heat dissipation), but for track use, I would use the DS3000s if Ferodo was to be your referred choice.

I have always steered clear of EBC products due to the infamous disc warping issues that the Greenstuff pads cause. However, I have only ever heard good reports about the Redstuff, so given Tab's experience, it has got to be on the list of pads to consider . I find the Mintex pads to be "squeely".

I used DS2500 on my S2 when it had 315mm ap 4pots, and never ever had a problem. They used to squeal a bit when cold, but i did approx 6 -8 track days per set of pads.

I did try some pagid blues, but couldnt get enough heat into them and found them crap in comparrison , but i suspect it was because my car was light - they used to work fine on everyones cossies but they are heavier !

In fact on the new track day shitter i'v brought, i'll be using the 2500's again, just in the standard calipers.

Yep, with lighter cars, you can get away with much softer pads / smaller discs etc .

I havent tried that many brands but among standard ford and mintex i found them very good for my 4x4 sapphire. Never had any problems with fade on a trackday but it has to be said im like driving miss daisy out there compared to the good drivers.

i used the redstuff pads on Bedford and they were really good,no complaints at all.

i used the ds2500's at Donno and i was pushing the car hard and i never had brake fade, locked up once or twice but they were really good.

i have got ds3000 as a spare set for track so i will be trying them out next i think.

I use them in the evo with AP 6 pots & they stop well but they seem to be really squeaky.

Did you remember to put copper slip on the backs of the pads?

Are you sure that it isn't you, as you squeak when you walk, so squeaking when you pressed the brake peddle would seem to make sense .

Loved them (DS2500s) front and rear on my standard 4*4 Cossie discs and calipers. Never faded. Worked well all the time, hot or cold.

Gutted when I went for the Compbrakes that DS2500s don't fit - although the supplied Hawk pads were also good if bloody heavy on the dust!
