The Police
Is anyone on here a serving officer? I have decided on a career change, Ive been a printer for ten years and I am sick of it. Can anyone give me any tips on the application process, and do you have any regrets about joining? Ta.

i just coming up to 2 years in the police now and i joined when i was 39, i left a good job with good money as a workshop controller for a ford dealer to join the police and it was BEST thing i have ever done, it was less money to start with but it goes up with your length of service.
the only down side i that there are`nt many petrol heads in the police where i work.
if i can help at all give me a call (number will be PM'd) or if you are going to the totb look me up i am racing my mk1 escort.
cheers lee

Being a volunteer helps too, this is why I’ve been spending a lot of my free time at the police vehicle depot! Tasks vary from cleaning cars (which I enjoy), arranging bits n bobs, helping mechanics, fixing cars etc. I’m not getting any money for it but in 2 years time when I have finished university I will be able to apply to the police with the ability to say I’ve voluntarily maintained their cars, which will earn me brownie points.
