Is anyone on here a serving officer? I have decided on a career change, Ive been a printer for ten years and I am sick of it. Can anyone give me any tips on the application process, and do you have any regrets about joining? Ta.

hi mate
i just coming up to 2 years in the police now and i joined when i was 39, i left a good job with good money as a workshop controller for a ford dealer to join the police and it was BEST thing i have ever done, it was less money to start with but it goes up with your length of service.

the only down side i that there are`nt many petrol heads in the police where i work.

if i can help at all give me a call (number will be PM'd) or if you are going to the totb look me up i am racing my mk1 escort.

cheers lee

Glad to hear you made the right move and thanks for the offer of advice I may need it. I am 30 years old was worried I was too old to join but obviously not. What was your salary in the first year? I dont get paid mega money but I am a production manager and wondered what kind of hit I would take What force do you serve with?
