Default Difference between injectors - tech help

Right i want to know the advantages and disadvantages of using Siemens 83lb injectors over Bosch Grey 403's?

Apart from the obvious power capability......

What will fuel consumption be compared against each other, and is there anything else significant i should be aware of?

Thanks

the siemens 55lb are a closer flow rate to the grey,

as far as i am aware the siemens injectors have a better spray pattern,

as for fuel consumption it would depend on the map and software

i run the 55lbs on mine ,love em, and on closed loop can see up to 38mpg

well the siemens ones are just a simple fit,

and the greys have all the cap issues ,fit or not, drill or not and need a fitting kit

speak to stu at MSD he sells them and maps them ,he will tell you if they are sutable for your application

83lb injectors at 400bhp are using less injector duration that the YB did as a nice standard unmodified car so are literally having a holiday.

That said, they are having an easy time at 500 bhp too.

That equates to RELIABILITY. What else matters?

Injectors have absolutely nothing to do with either the way an engine runs or its fuel economy. Both those things are down to your ECU calibration.

If your mapper is substandard, both those criteria may be poor. If he blames injectors for either poor running or poor economy, find another one who knows what they are doing with your particular management.

Finally, never have an engine where the turbo can either match, or out flow the injectors. Its a foolish choice to make.
