Default cossie stage 3 glitch ideas needed

gents

on stage 3 esco, 3 bar, dark greens,t34.48, group A pump

got a glitch in 1st and 2nd gear a very slight missfire around 3800rpm

not always but sometimes, its a big miss and a backfire, and car totally judders etc then takes off

ive just fitted a new engine and it wasnt doin this before

have got new plugs, leads and distributor cap/rotor on order

are plugs getting blown out ? tried two sets still same ?

or whats goin on ? mixture wrong ? its running rich i think exhaust is sooty

any ideas

I,m no expert but i,d check the Phase Sensor gap is right and check the two wires running to it inside the dizzy as these can corode and short out !

071 c motorcrafts also tried champions, both same.

standard leads, ive just ordered some tailor made ones from a rally guy

not suggesting running rich would cause it lads, just trying to give info that may help

thanks for the comment re phase sensor, does anyone know the correct gap lads ?

will check that out fully tmrw

Champion c57's are fine for any power Cosworth.. the only problems with them are small gaps/poor idle and short life... Anything else is bollocks

Any joy yet?
It may be a sensor. If you are close i can connect the engine to Diagnostics equipment to check your system and other areas that could cause the problem.
