Default totb in the wet

hi
i am doing totb for the first time this year as part of the turbosports team and was wondering if there had been a totb in the rain before and if so how did the day go as i would imagine that most of the cars would be on semi slick tyres.

cheers lee

I guess people that don't take the appropriate tyre's wont set very good times mate!

As for previous TOTB events in the wet, the first one was washed out at points and all run pretty much stopped IIRC, as for the others i've not bothered to watch cos they are chavvy, uninteresting crap!

Best of luck though!

I didn't go to the first, but I have been to all the rest and sunburn was the order of the day, even if it was cloudy.

I have raced at Elvington in torrential rain with some big puddles at the far end of the strip. I have some decent Dunlop tyres on my (4x4) car and didn't have much of a problem, bar the usual slowing down through the puddles at over 100mph (that was the water pulling me back, not me on the brakes). I still got 1.6 and 1.7 60fts at best.
Andy Forrest on the other hand, spun off at 140ish over the line from right to left and ended up in the field. He was on slicks obviously.

I would imagine 2wd vehicles would have a bit of a problem with wheel spin tho.

For what it's worth, the local weather (at the mo) is supposed to be alot better for next weekend. I'm 22 miles from Elvington.
