Modifying an inlet plenum?????

Modifying an inlet plenum?????
Hi guys,
Got a standard 4x4 sapphy inlet on my recently purchased engine. Trouble is the heads had work for 550bhp which should be fine as i'm after 450-480bhp but the inlet manifold is going to be mega restrictive at this power level....
In the past i've seen a few pictures of standard 4x4's with a mod to the elbow underneath the plenum...is that a mod capable of 480bhp if I spaced out the plenum say 25mm +(can go to whatever I'd need as it's not going in a sierra).
Anyone got pics? Or drawings of a modified plenum...detailed pics of a swedish plenum? anything really as I can make whatever I need just dont want to pay $$$ for plenum when the money can be spent elsewhere.
