Default Dovercourt Ford c**ts (capri windscreen smashed on premises)

we went to our local ford dealer yesterday to have a look at a little fiesta to get backwards and foward to work. we sat talking to a salesman who didnt know a thing about a pram let alone a ford .. didnt start well when he called the capri a crapi . well after 10 mins of him talking crap a guy came in to say whos blue capri was parked in the carpark as someone had thrown a brick over a wall and it gone through the screen .
i thought they were joking but they wernt well thwe police didnt even show and apparently it had happened before well to cut a long story short
they did fuck all about it the sales manager was a **** and well the rest is history.. anyway the screen isnt made anymore according to most glass companys 21 years ols and not a mark and now we are carless

anyone help we need a capri screen and fitted

20 years old, all original 210k miles, never have I had a car vandalised, pics of her here https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...829&highlight=

oh and why cant people leave other peoples property alone sad bastards ..

I know perhaps it is classed as public car park, park at your risk etc and maybe they aren't liable for damage sustained whilst on their property? But it was the general attitude, at first the Manager wouldn't even come and talk to us, didn't offer an apology, a place to store the car, to try and source a screen/use of telephone - when we mentioned he had not offered anything he said 'you didn't ask' what?! Even if they are not responsible, surely decent customer service would be to try to help in some way?? It was a case of 'tough, on your bike'.

Telephoned my insurance company, put me onto Autoglass - they can't get a screen for it.

If it had happened before (I thought the wall backed onto gardens, did not know was an alley running behind it) why was there no signs up to say 'parked at owners risk' or why did they not attach bars to the top of the wall? Once bad enough, twice not good enough? Customers as well as their own cars for sale (new and used) are parked there, how many times are they prepared to replace glass in those?

The general treatment was disgusting, I am very suprised to have been treated this way at a dealer

Yer not situated in the best of areas with the hythe down the road and the garrison not far behind

Might be worth giving Ford Spares in Tendering a call. Long shot, but ya never know

Fingers crossed Dave there is a company who can still source them.

Some Ford places do still have a few in stock, but Capri is not on the computer anymore so has to be looked up on the microfiche.

RetroFords has been suggested, but at the moment no way of getting there and they quite a few miles away

Mate, write a letter to the ford main office noting your complains, ie very rude/ disinterested staff, etc etc, you will at least get an apology letter, and they might give you some cheap servicing etc? don't let the fuckers get away with it

Twice!

Police telephoned today asking if want to lodge a complaint with regard to criminal damage, I didn't speak to them but seems they were referring to the Dealer.

Got to get my writing head on to compose a decent letter of complaint, I understand perhaps they are not liable, but the way they handled it was awful IMO, just the principle really.
