Default Noisy lifter problem on new engine...

Hello peeps.

Ive done around 850 miles on my new rebuild now, and today, one of the lifters started tapping quite noisily on tickover. It goes away as soon as the revs increase.

They were brand new from PJ Motorsport.

Will it shut up? or am i gunna have to change them again? What could be the cause?

Cheers for any info
Mike

thinking about it, it was fine until i changed the oil yesterday to fully-synthetic from mineral.

Would that have anything to do with it?

Leave it for a few miles, but new ones shouldn't really be noisy

Might be worth takin cam cover off and checking that the threads are ok on the studs that hold the cam caps down, common for these to pull the threads out of the head
What did you torque them too,IIRC its only somethin stupid like 5 lbs ft

seen this before it turned out to be a dodgy oil filter. worth changing it before anything else i would of thought.
