yeah mate engine cannot consume 33 psi below 5400 rpm so boost has been caped at 26 psi. its got a pair of bd14s though and the inlets only a 4x4 plenum though and head isnt ported to the max. nms call it a middle of the road head. im pondering on eec iv inlet and full head port saw someone who does it for about £1200 gns ? or something like that. should see about 530 then. do you get no surge atall then on your t4 ?
I'd go for the EEC IV Inlet if i was you, the head work on mine by Karl was 2.5k really mine with a T38 on @ 440bhp isn't enough for the spec really mind you' i've told Karl to just chuck the boost at the T38 so it should be fun until it pops..
your head must be capable of loads more then mate. wana swap
It is mate, that's why i'm going GT30 in a few months

The WHOLE car is capable, Quaife diff, Quaife gears..bla bla..
you should be easily cracking the magical 500 then mate

Sounds like a good spec.

My new head is cnc big port(with extra work by ava)
1mm oversized ferera valves
Kent doube springs
Titainum Retainers
Mountune cams
Multi layer steel headgasket

Will be good to see what differance the big valves and extra porting will make as ava did a similar engine that made 360 ATW.

Thats the one thing that gets me on this site how some people claim power ATW some ATF and some Dyno figures. I take it bench dyno figures are the most acurate?

with a mildly ported head, and plenty of boost, do you recon you could see 500 bhp /500 Lbs of torque? You see a lot of 500-520 BHP engines but with a crap torque figure, some even not making 400Lbs/Ft

My T4 saff is on 25/26mm head with std cams, a 4x4 plenum, 850cc injectors etc, and holds 2.5 bar, not really had a chance to drive it yet as I have been doing a few jobs on it, and converting it to RWD from 4x4 . It has been estimated at 450BHP ( which I think is a conservative estimate), and was certainly stupidly fast as a 4x4, can't wait to give it some in 2wd form

With all due respect you presumably havent had much Cosworth T4 experience then as its only the most likely to surge turbo anyone has ever fitted to a YB ever.
