Default probably a stupid question but.....

right i been looking at land to build a house on for ages but the prices are sky high

i have just found a chunk of land in the area that i have always wanted

the only thing is its on a green belt

if i was to buy it and keep applying for planning permission would they eventually cave, i could hold on to it for years i guess as its money that i have already put aside (just for this reason)

doe sthis sort of thing happen or not?

Its not likely to be given planning consent, given the current leaning towards redevelopment of 'brown field' sites, unless properties are already on either side of the piece of land in which case it 'could' be considered in-fill.

You could always try contacting a local councillor for an opinion.
