The signing is a little soured for me by Luis Garcia having to be sold

Hopefully El Nino will make a huge difference to the team, but I still think we need another world class striker and a winger to make any sort of big impact this season.

might sound daft lynne, but at £27million i was a bit dubious, at £20 million its a lotter better deal for me, still a lot of money, and if you take into account we got £4 million for garcia, its really £16 million and garcia, which for me, is a good deal.

Even if you paid £25m for him he is still a fooking quality striker, deffo in the top 10 in Europe and still fairly young,
knock off the £4m for Garcia and it dont look too bad,
Let him notch 20 plus goals this season and the cost will be forgotten about.

I got the spanish away top last year for the world cup, with torres on it. A lot of people didnt know who he was until then, I think he's awesome, and def a great buy for the pool who really have lacked someone with pace and great striking ability for a while!!

What are you on, top ten in europe he would be lucky to make top ten in Spain, have you actually watched an Spainish football this season? What 14 goals including penalties in 38 games is top 10 in europe? Hes well over rated and over priced all because hes spains golden boy like Beckham or Totti for their countries.

Well its about time someone got the 25 goals per season they want after all Ciise at £14m- £17m was supposed to be this man and he got about 2 goals, Belamy, Morrientes also from Spain also flopped but the biggest build up from Liverfool fans was about Kuyt "hes class will get 25 goals" and the usuall "we're GOING to win the league" and he even he was dissapointing, not delivering these goals.

Remember talking about Kuyt on here with a few fools after the world cup was over and i was right he wouldn't get that amount of goals.

And isn't he about Rafas 18th Spanish player hes brought it, somewhere around that figure.

Makes Bent look cheap now at least him can ping them in and is proven over here, hes boring though as we see his name week in week out. I blame the papers going on about who hes meant to be joining for 2 years just like they were abotu Ronaldo and Real. Total over hype but yeah hes better than Belamy and Liverpool are going ot have about 10 strikers that can all get what a fit Solskjaer gets off the bench.

Love it when all the mancs diss a player we've bought. This time last year when SAF was given the go ahead to bid for Torres, the mancs were creaming themselves at the prospect. Torres was world class then and the mancs were getting him...

Pinched from another forum, a few quotes from mancs about the impending signing that never happened I'm sure if I could be arsed to do a search for this time last year, there'd be many more quotes from the mancs saying how great Torres is

Shame the mancs didn't get 2 of the players a lot wanted ie: Mascherano and Torres and ended up with only the over-rated and over priced Carrick

£20m for Torres makes Bent look well overpriced and as Rafa said he isn't expecting 20+ goals a season in the league from any of his strikers, he'll be happy with 15 goals from each striker + goals from other players.

Remind me skeg.... how many league goals did Rooney get last season? Wasn't it 14? Has he ever got 25+ in a season for the mancs/everton?
