To be fair, how many forwards have you touted as the next big thing? only for them to go sulking off back to the country they came from as they couldnt hack the premiership?
He has the potential, but only time will tell if he's any good over here, and WTF, he has the face/haircut of a woman, I wondered what the fuck was going on when I was flicking through the BBC sport pages, wondered why they were showing a pic of his missus

most of this 'we've now got the player we need to win the pl crap' comes from the media, hardly somthing the fans can be accused of
I for one have never said anything like that about a player we have bought, let the performance do the talking

But there's no need to get your knickers in a twist about it Hardeep. It would be the other way round if United got him I'm sure: Liverpool fans saying "well we don't want him anyway cos we'll get "X" who is better.
That's where football threads always go. Doesn't matter whether it's united, Pool, Spurs, anyone. All end up with banter that some people don't like & start calling everyone else tossers over the posts.
Can't wait for the season to start if people are getting upset now....

That's what I mean. All teams have been in that situation. Just banter but some people can't handle it (not meaning you in particualr Hardeep ). Doesn't bother me anymore. Lost count of how many times I've been called a glory hunter (not much glory in the 80's ) or had people comment they didn't think I was from Manchester .
Veron:
Played well in Europe when he could be bothered. Sometimes in Prem.
Least Chelsea did us a favour here
Can't believe you mentioned Forlan tho...
Have you forgotten the Liverpool game..two goals through keepers legs ??
"Diego woah-oh-oh....Diego woah-oh-oh
He came from Uruguay
He made the scousers cry" is how I think it goes

If he was given the confidence of a solid run in the team rather than Rafa's in/out policy he'd score more than one in two easily.
Hardly any Prem club has a better striker on current form.

ps, as a Crystal Palace fan I dont give a fuck about Man U or Liverpool untill it comes to Europe, then as long as one of them wins and Chelsea dont then
I just cant stand Crouch getting a rough deal, he's a quality player and deserves the accolades.

Good signing only time will tell if he will be a great signing, he is not a Prolific goal scorer yet but with better players he can become one.. I watch a lot of Spanish football and torres falls over a lot and doesnt like getting kicked so the premier league will be a bit of an eye opener for him, hes no where near the top ten in Europe but the potential there
he very fast and he will add alot of Assists.... dirk kuyt will score more goals next season as long as Liverpool play him as a lead centre forward
thanks

The headline news at the moment is that ManU have almost got Tevez for 20m.
I would have liked L'pool to sign him the way people have been raving about him...... but I somehow thought he was more of a prolific world class player than he actually is..... and he hasn't really played that many games in 7 years.
Wikipedia:
Season .....Club .......Matches/Goals
2001-2002 Boca Juniors...11 1
2002-2003 Boca Juniors...32 10
2003-2004 Boca Juniors...23 12
2004-2005 Boca Juniors...9 2
2005 Corinthians..............29 20
2006 Corinthians..............9 5
2006-2007 West Ham......26 7
That's a hell of a gamble spending 20m on a player who only had a good end to the season in the PL and has never played in Europe.

Torres is a great signing, i really can't believe anyone is arguing the fact
consistently scored goals at every level, ok maybe not the 20-25 that everyone would like, but he has been playing in a team comparable to Everton/Bolton at best really.
For Ł20m it's a good deal, a nice long 6 year contract too, he's shown he's loyal by sticking by Atletico for so long, til he had no other choice really but to leave....taking a pay cut to join us!
with the Ł4m from the Garcia sale ( which i was pleased about tbh, he makes my blood pressure rise lol ) circa Ł6m for Djibril Cisse, and the possibility of West Ham bidding Ł11m for Craig Bellamy...we haven't really spent a penny
We need wingers, a left back and possibly a bit more defensive cover. Not keen on Heinze coming though, i don't really rate him myself, i'd rather have Shorey from Reading!

I've watched a lot of european football this season gone with a greater choice of whats just on Sky and hes not worth Ł26m or Ł20m whatever it was (only they know for sure). People are debating weather he will be a flop like Kuyt, Cisse, Morrientes or will actually get goals worthy of that tag. And hes not in the top 10 in europe thats for certain!

We didn't want Torres or Mascherano, Ferguson said he was offered Mascherano and Tevez as was everyone pre west ham but he didn't like the situation. The Sun said Torres was coming for 2 years way before any Liverfool rumours but like Ronaldo to Madrid stories thats all it was.
As for the United board, there is a transfer topic and literally has been threads on EVERYONE, Bent, Torres, Owen as people react to newpaper stories that aren't confirmed. Some of the posters don't in live in Europe let alone England and will post up things on the United section like "dong should play because hes Chinese"
As for Tevez, just read about that now. God i hope not hes too similiar too Rooney. Better than nothing i suppose.

Torres goal record is about 1 in 4 at international and 1 in 3 at club level (he takes penalties too) and he has very little european football experience let alone CL. Heinze has played in Argentina, Portugal, Spain, France, England and for Argentina which are better than Spain and you don't rate him?

Heinze @ 6m for a 29 yr old who didn't play particularly well last season can't be taken as a serious player to rate. The season before he was ok, but at 29 yrs old he will be on the decline not incline.

I don't give a FF who set up more goals, that's irrelevant on this thread when we are talking about strikers!

Tevez and Torres are both 23 but if Tevez is "one hell of a gamble" then what the fuck is Torres?
Fernando Torres - 23
Atheltico Madrid- 82 goals in 214
Spain- 14 goals in 40
Carlos Tevez- 23 (1 month younger)
Boca Juniors- 25 goals in 75
Corinthians- 25 goals in 38
West Ham- 7 goals in 26
Argentina- 7 goals in 30.
Tevez 57 goals in 139 total
Torres 82 in 214.
I'd rather have Tevez any day because not only has he played in 3 different leagues and away from home as well as playing for Argentina which have much better players than Spain but also hes played in the premiership and thats whats pertinent here. You play down his goals here but he scored 7 in 10 to help west ham after all the takeover and Pardew Curbishly shit done and he settled. Not to mention his free kicks.

lets not try to see into the future, or pick holes in each player!!
whatever anyone can say, Torres and Tevez are both quality players and would make any team stronger!!!
Torres alone will not bring us much closer to the Prem, but a couple of attack minded wingers might!

Please don't be so childish with the way you type Liverpool. Nobody else has degenerated to childish things like that on this thread.
Also where are all these so called Liverpool fans bragging Liverpool is going to win the PL this season? I haven't seen ANY fan stating this, as we are intelligent enough fans who know that one player won't win us the league.
