Default Legal Q on change to our honeymoon flights

Basically our flight home has been cancelled. We have been offered a flight which leaves 10hours or so earlier which means a stop over for 1 night in London before arriving home on same day we wouldve anyway.

They are going to refund £174 but basically that has to be spent on staying in London.

Now im pissed off because im going to pay the same or more than originally planned yet i lose a whole day in the maldives in return for staying in London for a night

tha company say its not classed as an "extreme change" or summat like that which has to be min 12hrs difference before they pick up extra costs.

Where do i stand? SHould they pay for the hotel in London or is it my tough shit that they change my honeymoon plans?

If it were me, id be telling them politely that they can shove their flight up their arse... and if they are cancelling your flight then they should find you a flight at a LATER DATE and put you up for longer out there... kick up enough fuss and something will be done about it... dont sit back and take it.

i just called them and the company aren't liable to pay for the hotel

Only thing i can do is take up a complaint through ABTA when i return

It doesnt seem to matter mate as the its not more than 12hours difference. Its not a long gap time wise but its a big pain encurring costs in London which i shouldnt have when i should have an extra day in paradise!

Where you guys going?

Wankers.

10Days in Barbados for us mate.
Was a real struggle to choose between teh 2, but in the end we went for Barbados as Nicole cant go all inc due to food allergies, so we have hired a beutifull villa and pool out there.

Yeah, sorry, thought id mentioned it, doh. yeah, was Maldives or Barbados.

We looked into teh available foods and it isnt worth the risk for Nicole as her alergies are serious. She can almost only eat Chicken, Rice, potato, broccolli, and carrot in moderation.

Her available food choices are terrible man. Terrible. They dictate a large proportion of her life as it so hard to eat away from home.

Its grim mate. Ive likely missed a few items off teh list, but basically no sugars period, inc natural in fruit etc, no beef, fish or pork and nothing containing and yeast, MSG, preservatives sweeteners or Gluten, to name just a few from top of my head. Now try and find a product with none of those in.

Anyway... back to your plight mate... sorry for veering off topic.

A similar thing happened to us when we went mate

our flight out there was cancelled, and we left a day later..it wasnt to much of a problem as we still got the full two weeks as the hotel gave us an extra day,

but i had to take an extra day off work which was tricky, and then they had the nerve to give us £10 each in compensation

We had problems with the outbound flight for our honeymoon too but I stuck to my guns with the company involved and they got me onto another flight in the end which was at a better time.

We'd originally booked to fly from Gatwick to Larnaca on the afternoon of the day after our wedding and I'd booked the wedding car to drive us to the airport, I then received a letter a few months before we were due to go stating that they'd cancelled our flight and we were now booked onto the 6am flight instead I hit the roof because there was no way we could enjoy our own wedding reception then be at the airport for 4am for the following day. They wouldn't offer us a refund or anything originally but after I made it very clear that this was our honeymoon and we were getting married the day before and it just wasn't possible to change to that flight they backed down and got us on a flight 2 hours later Stick to your guns

I hope you get it sorted.
