Default Plastering courses

Im thinking of doing one of these courses:

http://www.goldtrowel.org/weekend.htm

OR

http://www.tradeskills4u.co.uk/trades/Plastering

I want to learn about plastering/skimming etc & hopefully by the end of the course want to be able to plaster a wall.

Has anyone had any experience with any of these sort of company's or can anyone recomend any good training companys?

I spoke to Tiff about these courses before- being as he is sort of a trade chappy.. I also have a mate who is a plasterer.

They said...

WASTE OF MONEY.

The only one worth doing was Tiling apparently as its relativly easy to pick up.

They both reckoned learning plastering within 1 week was a joke... in fact dolly Daz's mate Gaz employees a lad purely to mix his plaster to his exact requirements- which I understand in its self is art.

A very good analogy

I was advised- do the course and then be someones lacky for a "bit" untill you're good enough not to be someones lacky.

i aint a plasterer but am a sparky so as you can imagine i see plenty of the wankers !! like people said it isnt something you can pick up with a week or month course takes a long period of time to master, best bet would to try and get on somewhere not going to be very good money though

lots of money to be earnt in that trade though same as mine you want a min of Ł150 a day

DO NOT take advice off STU H LMFAO at that thicken it up method...

If ya skimming a wall make sure you give it a good couple of coats of unibond(pva adhesive)

Let's face it, if you're doing it so you can do your own walls, if the course is naff and you're crap at it, it's only your own walls you'll ruin - I say go for it
