Default Ignition maps

What would the approx difference be in degrees for the same specced engines but different comp ratios.......1 has 7.2-1 the other 8-1 other than that identical....Plus where in the BHP/torque scenario is one better than the other?

why, you need to know how much to twist the adjuster on your monitor so that your chip thats probably mapped for the wrong C/R wont blow your engine up?

Jim my mate...no its not,i was having a convo with the gay man of PF yesterday about a 7.2-1 engine running the same ignition curve as an 8-1 engine....which is bizzare to say the least so just wanted to know the approx difference it should be...and what power difference on correct maps.

I obviouly know i can back my ignition off a touch and actually make my engine safer.........

Damn i love you Jim lad

Phil,
You're misquoting me, I said the 7.2:1 engine was running LESS ignition than the high comp one, hence why the higher comp one would destroy itself if used in anger .
