whats the differance between...

...the bottom ends on the st170, silver top & the black top? i know the water pump is on the out side of the block (on the black top) instead of inside (on the silver top) but what else is differant?

Main caps are smaller on the later block.

Rods are different length. Later rods have bigger (from 8mm up 9mm) rod bolts.
