Default T5 rebuild well done ELITE

Just had a rebuild carried out on my T5 gearbox at Beagle engineering/Elite racing transmissions in Stoke.

I would highly recommend them, very competitive price in comparision to other companies. And very friendly and Quick turnaround.

I dropped my box off on Saturday, the following Wednesday got a call to explain the box was stripped and they were getting me a price for new 5th gear as it was rather worn due to the duff syncro (i wondered what all the crunching was ). So i could then make a decision if i wanted them to replace it aswell.
Got call on Friday with price for 5th gear, i say yes order and replace for me please.
Expecting the box towards the end of the following week i get a call Tuesday morning to let me know its ready.

Well done guys, just over a week including checking with me if i want additional parts and ordering them. When i collected i was given all the worn parts so i could see the wear and tear.

Highly recommend these guys:

Yes standard rebuild, my box was crunching into 5th gear. Worn syncro.

However upon strip down 5th gear was somewhat worn on part of it so i had that replaced too.

where ?? tell everybody. Many people wopuld be interested where you can get a T5 rebuilt for Ł140.

Ł300-360 seems to be about the standard price from Elite and Gearboxman (CTS).

Of course getrag are competition boxes so possibly designed to be rebuilt with ease, at least every season or more frequently.

A T5 is not straight forward to dismatle box, but it is a production car box and not designed to be i'm sure, and therefore possibly not as cheap.

the getrag box i have is not a competion box and was told that you actually break a certain part of the box when you take it to bits.

The place that did mine are a place that AVA use in glasgow called Top Gear.

If anyone is interested i can get contact details.

You break a part taking stripping it !!! !! thats the point it ain't a simple job. And require special extractor tool.

The 5th gear part that is easy to break during dismanltling is no longer in production apparently.
So break these at your peril......

I imagine its much more fun smashing it off, and hey, why spend ages removing it when you can smash it off if you're gonna replace it? lol
