Default Queens English..

Is it too good for people to use?

Is there a rule on here that says that you cannot use it, so therefore you have to use text speak?

Its not like you're limited to how much you can type on here, unlike a text message, however, you can expand those over several messages now.

So, what is it?

What does? Using correctly spelt words or text speak?

I just can't quite understand Cunt-talk. It seems like the main rule is to spell things wrong on purpose? Names included.

Beccy's 12-year-old daughter Rosie went through a phase of spelling her own name Rozzi. WTF?

I fucking despise it.

Makes you wonder where this will be in 20 years time. I imagine that it we be like Neanderthal times again, with everyone just grunting at each other.

I just hope these kids get laughed at when they go for job interviews and fill the job application in using their own 'language'. Dipshits.

I can forgive people who genuinely can't spell, but there is no forgiving for those who can spell and use text talk.

This txt speak thing has been done to death. But what about this:

Foreigners are taught to pronounce a lot of o's and u's as a's. e.g. bas instead of bus, yang instead of yang. This is how the Oxford English dictionary instructs how to pronounce. Few people apart from the Queen herself actually speak like this...

Rick.

Nope... but on one of the other car forums I use, it's not allowed.

I will not tolerate chav talk, text type and if you really, really can't spell please use a spell check before posting. Typos are one thing, glaring inability to use the Queens English quite another.

Pleb talk is all the rage. More so with the teens I thought, my daughter's friends use it all the time, and I loathe it, managed to erm persuade her not to though!

Cant argue with this I did think it was a bit lame just reading the above rule you quoted, But reading it all makes sense

In order to set the tone for our new found forum, I would kindly ask that you all consider the following;

-All newbs think twice before asking about Nos, stage one, rolling road figures and your mates Punto. This site has been created by adults for adults.
-I will not tolerate chav talk, text type and if you really, really can't spell please use a spell check before posting. Typos are one thing, glaring inability to use the Queens English quite another.
-Actions speak a lot louder than words. If you post that you can do the quarter mile in a certain time, back it up with the timing slips. Same goes for rolling roads, don't post it unless you can back it up.

I hope you enjoy the forums. This isn't here to be anything other than a enjoyable for those that use it properly. Remember it is not a democracy, this is something that I own. You have been warned
