Cost me quite a bit putting all them faults right too - damn shitty previous owners, no wonder RS's get called unreliable

I reckon most of the time it's because they are bought by dreamers who can afford the purchase price and insurance, but can't afford the up-keep on a 20 year old car, that to be honest, weren't known for being amazingly reliable when new

Hence the fact that when work needs doing to them, it gets done on the cheap, and/or by people who don't know what they're doing. Then they sell it on to someone who ends up with a complete shit sandwich and a huge repair bill

well contrary to popular believe I drove my Cossie all the way to Le Mans and back with nothing more painfull than a 90 euro speeding fine for doing 110mph to show for it

All this bollocks about unreliability makes me fucking laugh, any car would be unreliable when its not looked after properly and some bell end thinks 400hp is clever on a budget of £40

you can't wack 350 hp+ through the drive train of a car that was designed and tested to take 200 - 230 hp and expect it to take the abuse day in and day out without problems, treat it with a degree of respect and look after it properly and it will be as reliable as any other car

strange really the 2 cossies I have owned have always been maintained by professionals and have been maintained correctly and treated with a degree of mechanical sympathy and have never caused me any problems at all I guess I must of been lucky
